ARS, the Audlem Ramblers Society, has been planning its 2011 programme. The ARS walks are normally on the second Saturday of the month and the Short-ARS programme is normally on the fourth Saturday.

The first ARS walk is on 8th January and is a 10 mile walk around the Maer area led by Peter Kay. More details in the New Year.

Later walks include one starting in Church Stretton (February) ; a circular walk around Bollington (March); a linear walk on the North Wales Path from Conwy to Llanfairfachan with great coastal views and interesting stone circles, an old favourite of ARS, which is scheduled for April.

May's expedition is an ascent of the Berwyns in North Wales while June's is a 10 mile linear walk over the Malvern Hills, another old favourite with spectacular views in fine weather.

Short-ARS walks for the first half of the year – these are typically 5 – 7 miles in length and start in or relatively near to Audlem – include a couple over local Audlem Parish footpaths; a walk over the Hanchurch Hills (about 20 minutes drive away); and walks from Whitchurch and Marbury.

Details will be published on Audlem Online before each walk. If you are interested in joining ARS, please contact audlemramblers@hotmail.co.uk">audlemramblers@hotmail.co.uk
