ARS, the Audlem Ramblers Society, has been working on its 2012 programme. These are the details established so far:
14th January: Circular walk around Delamere and over Edisbury Hill of approximately 10 miles – led by Tony Crowther.
11th February: A circular walk from Poynton of 10 miles around Lyme Park – led by Andy Davidson
10th March: A Shropshire walk – details to be confirmed – led by Simon Probert
14th April: A walk around Llyn Brenig – led by Howard Jones
12th May: A walk from Capel Curig – details to be confirmed – led by John Vickers
8th June: Walk to be confirmed
14th July: A walk in the Goyt Valley including Shining Tor – led by Andy Davidson
11th August: A 10 mile walk from Llanberis over the grass covered Moel Eilio, Foel Gron and Moel Cynghorion returning via Brithdir. Two hills with total of 3200 feet of climbing. Led by Peter Kay
8th September: Walk to be confirmed
13th October: Walk to be confirmed
10th November: A 10 mile moderate walk in the Wyre Forest from the Eymoor Wood car park along the North Worcestershire Way to Drakelow returning via Wolverley Lock, Franche and the Habberley Valley. Led by Peter Kay
14th December: A circular walk in the Gnosall and Norbury Junction area of 7/8 miles – full details to be confirmed. Followed by the ARS Christmas Dinner in the evening.
Suggestions for the three months when walks are yet to be confirmed are being sought from ARS members. The programme will be updated when further details are available.
Short-ARS
A separate programme is being prepared for the Short-ARS walks that take place on the fourth, or occasionally fifth Saturday of each month, except December. Short-ARS walks are normally from 5 – 7 miles in distance, involve few significant inclines, are based from Audlem itself or within 30 minutes or so drive.
