Howard Jones is the organiser of this month's long ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk on Saturday 9th November.

Originally the walk was supposed to be near Abbotts Bromley, but I understand that after the walk was recceed it was decided that it was not suitable.

Howard has come up with another walk in Shropshire and below is his description:

Recce has been put back several times and was undertaken yesterday ( Monday 4th November). These are the walk details :

This 9 mile walk explores the valleys and hills on the western flanks of the Long Mynd starting at the hamlet of Bridges (grid ref SO393964).

The route takes in Ratlinghope, Betchcott Hills, before joining the Shropshire Way then Coates Farm, Overs and back with option to take in the highest point on the walk Pole Bank (516 metres).

It is , as I suspected, a 3 booter with relatively easy inclines but it is very wet under foot in a number of places; one short stretch of farm track is flooded but passable so a pole would be useful (not someone from Poland).

It was quite cold and windy on top but the views are superb! Meet on Audlem car park at 8.30am.
