This coming Saturday June 4th, ARS, the Audlem Ramblers Society, is off to the Malvern Hills.

The walk is South to North along the main ridge of the Malvern Hills and visits both the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Beacons and all the other summits that line this ridge. The walk also enters Gloucestershire.

On a clear day the views are tremendous. A line drawn due East from Worcestershire Beacon will hit no higher point until the Urals!

The walk is 10 miles, but is definitely NOT an easy one – don't let the relatively low elevation fool you.

It's an ARS 4 Boot walk due to the height gain and fall – there are lots of Ups and Downs – the height gain is actually greater than a Snowdon walk – a gain of 1000m (3300 feet in old money) – but the effort is worth it for the wonderful views – so long as the weather is cooperative.

We plan to start at the southern end near to Chase End Hill, finishing at the bottom of North Hill.
