The recent article by Gwen and David Brandreth, seeking help to locate their cat Amber, prompted a reminder of the help AudlemOnline and local resident Olive Stretch gave in reuniting a member of the webteam with their cat – after five months.

In late August 2011 we moved house taking our cat Millie with us.

As is sometimes required, builders were employed to renovate the house, and Millie found the noise very unsettling and one day disappeared.

Her loss was advertised on AudlemOnline, but it was some five months later when Olive Stretch contacted the owner to say that she had found a dishevelled cat in a field behind her house, and had heard about the advertisement. She had endured a harsh winter for five months (the cat not Olive !)

The cat was identified as Millie, but her long fur was in poor condition. A vet examined her and said she was fit but would need to have her fur shaved. Poor cat, but she soon recovered and was fully reunited with her family.

Thanks to Olive and Audlem Online.

We hope Gwen and David are also as fortunate.
