This is from the latest report from Antoinette Sandbach, our local MP.

Although the House may have risen for summer recess, work carries on throughout August in both Westminster and Eddisbury as I continue to deal with casework, enquiries and constituency matters.

Electric Vehicle Debate

On 4 July 2019, I joined a number of my colleagues from the BEIS Select Committee in a debate calling on the Government to bring forward the date for ending the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans. The BEIS Committee has heard extensive evidence about what action needs to be taken to ensure efficient roll-out and the many positives which will come from the move to electric vehicles.

Climate Change Group

I spoke at a joint meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group and All-Party Fuel Poverty and Energy Efficiency Group which examined the role of the net zero target and energy efficiency in addressing the climate crisis and fuel poverty.

Antoinette has also been able to spend a little time on less dramatic issues, such as the Parliamentary Netball Team and judging some cheeses at the Nantwich Show.
