April 2011 was another record month for Audlem Online with, according to the Statcounter website, 27,694 'unique readers' (that's 923 a day) clicking on.

On average, they read three pages each (81,050 pages were opened in the month). The readership figure was almost exactly 50% up on last year's April figure of 18,459 readers.

The numbers were boosted after Audlem Online was featured on BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine Show ten days ago in a discussion about 'new media'. That day, 1,688 readers went on to the website.

A reminder, for those that want to check out stories during the month just passed, they can all be found by going on to News on the horizontal blue band. An archive of every story since August 2005 is there – you can search by day, month or year.

May should be another busy month with major events such as the very special Highfields Gala on 7th and 8th May; the new Audlem Big Walk on 21st May; the Audlem Music Festival from 27th – 30th May and the Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May.

Thank you, once again, from the webteam for your interest and extra thanks to everyone who sends in stories, photos and comments and, in particular, to those that create the news we can report.
