Our Year 4 children returned from their Delamere adventure on Thursday full of exciting stories about their residential. Mrs Stoker, Mrs Standley and Mr Morrey ensured that they packed lots of interesting activities into both days and the children were full of exciting recounts of their visit!

It was wonderful to hear how well the children had represented our school whilst they were away. All of the staff accompanying them to Delamere were very proud of them all. Well done to everyone involved.

On Tuesday, our Year 5 and 6 children travelled to Brine Leas to watch a performance of 'Fame', which they thoroughly enjoyed!

We welcomed Year 5 and 6 Parents and Carers to school to join their children for lunch on Thursday. It was wonderful to see the children showing their relatives their lunchtime routine.

Thanks to Mrs Hayward for providing a wonderful menu and to Mrs Jones and all of the Mid Day Assistants who did a wonderful job organising everyone and clearing everything up.

As part on our ongoing self-evaluation in school, we really seek external validation of our teaching and learning across school. On Wednesday we invited a team into school to meet with leaders in school and observe teaching and learning through workbooks, class lessons and pupil voice.

Our visitors were very impressed with our school ethos and drive to bring out the best in all of our children. They commented that it was a 'privilege' to spend time in our school.

All Church of England schools receive regular Statutory Church School inspections to evaluate a range of areas such as Church School Distinctiveness and Collective Worship. Our school was inspected yesterday and I look forward to sharing the report with you when we receive it.

Thank you to all the parents who spent time with the inspector whilst they were in school for our shared lunch and the Governors who met with the Inspector as part of this inspection, to share their views on school life and links with the Church.

This week's Praise Book children are:
Mrs Hayward's Class – William Goodwin
Miss Danha's Class – Jack Tilley
Mrs Richardson's and Mr Morrey's Class – Jack Fellows
Mrs Stoker's Class – Sophie Binns
Mr Perry's Class – Jonathan Eaton Latham
Mrs Bird's Class – Jenna Gavin

All of the Year 4s for being such great ambassadors for our school at Delamere! Congratulations to you all!

Tidy Team -The winning classes this week is are Amethyst and Amber classes – well done! The winners of our Attendance Cup this week are Pearl and Ruby – well done!

On Thursday night our 5 aside team played two matches in the Nantwich 5 aside competition. They all gave of their best and despite losing their matches, Mr Perry was very proud of them.

FASA – We need your help!

FASA are always seeking new helpers to support with their events; they are also seeking new committee members. The letter from the FASA committee sent out to all families last week is an important communication to help us ensure this fantastic fund raising group can be sustained.

I ask that ALL parents and carers return the reply slip as soon as possible to ensure that the team know their messages have been received and also to volunteer in any way you can to help in any way. Thank you.
FASA's next meeting will be on Thursday 11th February at 2pm in the school hall.

This meeting will include planning for FASA's Film Night on Thursday 25th February and their special Easter Eggstravaganza on Wednesday 23rd March. Please try to attend this meeting if you can.

ABC Childcare

All of the children attending after school activities at ABC have been having lots of fun. Science, Making Sweets and Food Tasting have proved particularly popular! The children are being very helpful looking after younger children and setting a wonderful example – well done!

A reminder that ABC are taking bookings for holiday club over half term (week commencing 15th February). Please contact one of the team on 01270 748081 or 07786985110 if you would like to book onto these sessions.

Punctuality

We have had an increasing number of children arriving late for school over recent weeks. I would like to remind you that doors open at 8.45am and teachers and TAs planned targeted work for groups and individual from 8.45am onwards.

Please support your child and their teacher by arriving punctually for the start of the school day. Punctuality makes a great start to the school day and we cannot stress how much children are affected if they arrive late. The feeling of uncertainty and worry often impacts throughout the entire first lesson.

Please let us know if you are having problems getting your child to school on time.

School Phone Number

Please be aware, our school telephone number is linked to Cheshire East's phone system and appears as a 0845 number when dialled out, not 01270. Please bear this in mind when answering or ignoring calls during the school day as it is vital we are able to contact parents and carers with messages from school.

Finally

We are sending home letters about our forthcoming parent/child review open afternoon/evening today. These reviews will take place next half term. Please look out for the letters in school bags.
