Don't forget, it's the deadline tomorrow for the local collection for boxes for troops in Afghanistan.

Rosie and Chris Lewis say the result of their plea for boxes for our troops in Afghanistan has been little short of amazing.

Collection points are: Tom at Adderley Post Office; Judy at McKelveys, the newsagent in Audlem; and ourselves – Fields Farm in Green Lane. If the farm gates are all shut, please leave donations at the bottom of the drive hitched on the gate.

Every day they have been off-loading bags and bags from Judy Benson which have certainly been keeping their "packers" extremely busy.

Collection of the items originally listed under HYGEINE have had to stop as enough has already been collected to make our troops about the cleanest on record!! So please no more of the Hygiene items.

Items still wanted are:

Food: any canned meats, biscuits, chocolate, candy bars, canned fruit, canned tuna, bags of sweets, nuts, energy bars, ready to eat soups, cuppa soups, pot noodles, super noodles, sachets of hot drinks, chocolate powder, coffee, mashed potatoes, pepper, salt, sauces.

Other: bug repellent, hats, fingerless gloves, socks (black or white), boxer shorts, shampoo small or trial, talcum powder, magazines, playing cards, hand held travel games.
Not: lighters, aerosols, razor blades.

Royal Mail does not charge for boxes under 2 kg. so please bear that in mind when donating canned goods. We're just collecting goods – others are packing!

If you have any queries do please ring us: Rosie and Chris Lewis – Fields Farm, Green Lane. 01270-811070.

The original deadline was extended to 7th February, that's tomorrow. Rosie and Chris say they cannot thank everyone enough.
