AFC report

Ralph breaks new ground this week – not just a meteorological, nature and sports report, but a bit of political commentary as well – a whole weekend supplement in one!

I report on the game on the first day of October . On a day when the leaves are losing their chlorophyll and turning colour before they fall to carpet the ground and roads .

On a day when Catalonia goes to the polls in an illegal referendum seeking independence of the mother country of Spain.

I took myself with my granddaughter Willow to the very pleasant town of Palafrugel for coffee and croissants in the square . See my photo of the signage all over the place as the Catalans are urged to vote -- and to vote yes.

But. Audlem F C

.Played the game -- still away as we allow the pitch to mend itself .At Faddiley near to the Thatch Inn, on the other side of Burland.
Turn out of a narrow team . Leading 2-0 , we then conceded 5 goals!!
So a loss once more .
Scorers were Ross Henderson and Andrew Betterly, both new players this season.

So.

Back to my cold Rose wine , which is a comfort , amidst such let down.
Next game is away -- versus Barrel and Tap of Nantwich .
I will be there with my team. Perhaps my big black hat will be a lucky charm for the team.
