ADCA Wins £5,000 Funding

Audlem and District Community Action (ADCA) – has been awarded £5,000 (from the Covid-19 Community Response and Recovery Grant – see below, and attachment)

This will provide two additional lunch clubs from October 2020 for 6 months to meet new demand as part of ADCA's Recovery Plan. They will provide for 20 places each week which will provide places for 40 people each fortnight. A two course hot lunch followed by a hot drink will be provided.

The lunch clubs will be supported our staff and volunteers. By expanding the lunch clubs in this way, it will be building on the success of the Home Support Service which continues to provide food/prescription delivery and telephone befriending to combat the impact of the pandemic. #Covid-19 Community Response and Recovery Grant

Please see attached, a brochure detailing projects which have been awarded funding through the Covid-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund to date.

The aim of the Covid-19 Community Response and Recovery Grant is to support not for profit organisations to adapt to new ways of offering support to communities both during and following the pandemic, as well as being able to maintain and continue to offer services under current Government guidance. The fund is also supporting organisations to assist residents who are struggling to afford food and other essentials due to the economic impact caused by Covid-19. Local charities and community organisations can apply for grants towards the cost of getting food and other essentials to those who need it the most by delivering essential Covid-19 related services.

The brochure aims to provide a menu of services available to our communities, especially in the event of any future tighter government restrictions. Please share within your teams/networks and fully utilise these services for our most vulnerable residents.
