At the recent ADAS AGM Bryony Nixon , on behalf of Neil Goodyear who was unable to attend, gave an account of the various activities and events which had taken place during the previous year. These included: the planting of winter and summer flower displays, the bean-growing competition for pupils at Audlem St James School, the provision and decoration of Christmas trees throughout the village, the organization of the 'Big Switch-On' and the annual Carol Singing event in the Square.
Bryony thanked all volunteers who had contributed to the success of these events.
The Committee were delighted that Audlem had received a Silver Gilt award from Noth West in Bloom.
After the financial accounts of ADAS and the Medical and Nursing Trust had been read out the new Committee was elected with Neil Goodyear remaining as Chair.
Bryony then announced the winners of the Citizen of the Year and Junior Citizen of the year awards.
These were: Debbie Stretch in recognition of over 30 years delivering post around the village and Isaac Wilding for achieving success in the England Junior Rugby team.
David Latchford presented the 'Best- Kept' property award to Geoff and Olive Stretch. The 'Best-Kept' commercial property award was won by Audlem Dry Cleaners.
After the AGM everyone had the opportunity to chat to the Committee over a glass of wine and discuss possible future events.
