The basis of this recipe comes from 'The Purity Cook Book', this is an old Canadian cook book so everything is in cups, I use a teacup or I make it up!
Put the following into a large saucepan:
Mix well, bring to the boil, simmer for 10 mins.
Combine 3/4 tsp. dry mustard or 3/4 tspmade english mustard, 1/4 tsp turmeric. The recipe says use flour but I use a dessert spoon of corn flour with 1 tablespoon of water; if a bit dry add more water.
Gradually stir the paste into boiling relish. Cook for about 10 mins or until thickened, stir constantly. Fill hot sterilized jars. This relish is great with burgers, hot dogs or with cold meat.
Enjoy!
