As regular readers will know, a new group has been meeting recently with members from the four local parishes – Audlem, Buerton, Dodcott cum Wilkesley and Hankelow.
ADAPT stands for Audlem District Acting Positively for Transition. The group is informal, a place where all groups and individuals interested in the long-term sustainability of our communities can meet regularly to exchange ideas and skills and plan joint activities.
Last night, Chris Thornton, who has been chairing the ADAPT meetings, attended the Audlem Parish Council meeting to explain more about the group's aims and plans.
ADAPT will be working closely with the Audlem Parish Plan process and with other local groups and organisations that are already involved in local initiatives.
For example, the December ADAPT meeting was attended by four members of the DAHLIA committee who are working to establish allotments in Audlem. This is clearly a key part of ADAPT's manifesto aim to 'grow more food locally.'
ADAPT meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month. The group is very informal and you will be warmly welcomed if you would like to get involved. The next meeting is at 8.00pm on 6th January.
