On Thursday morning, Lock 15 was the scene of the formal adoption by ADAPT (Audlem and District Acting Positively for Transition) of the gardens at Lock 15.

Representing the Northwest Wales and Borders Region of the Canal & Rivers Trust were Wendy Capell (Waterways Manager), Ani Sutton (Development and Environment Manager), Duncan Davenport (Operations Manager), and four of the local volunteer workforce. Accepting the adoption certificate for ADAPT was Adrian Leighton, along with other Lock 15 Gardeners.

Our pictures also show the new gazebo to be used as needed at Lock 15 to act as the welcome gateway to Audlem for canal users approaching from the North. It is hoped to provide village information as well as perhaps acting as shelter for the Lock 15 gardeners when the rains come.

Adrian Leighton will shortly be publishing an article about the organisation of the Lock 15 gardens, so watch out for this if you have an interest in joining the Gardening Group.
