Action Plan – Patient Questionnaire 2011/12

We are very grateful to our patients who completed questionnaires and appreciate the positive feedback and ideas for improvements.

We are continually working towards improving the service we offer to our patients and will use the information from this survey to move forwards in the following ways:

  • Update and improve our register of patients’ up to date mobile telephone and e-mail contact details.
Whilst issues of patient confidentiality and data security do limit the ways in which we can utilise these forms of communication, once we have a sufficiently complete database of these details we can start to explore the feasibility of e-mail medical advice/’appointments’, text reminders about appointments and an e-mail newsletter.
Our reception team are handing out forms for patients to complete to enable us to achieve this.

  • Update the practice IT system. We will be moving over to a new system in 2012 (EMIS web) and hope that this will allow us to start to offer on-line appointment booking with both doctors and nurses.

  • Introduce a quarterly Practice Newsletter combining both Practice and Health Information that will be distributed in various ways and will also be available electronically, via both the Practice and Village websites and e-mail.

  • Have regular training sessions for all Practice Staff including sessions focussed on improving the service and services offered to our patients.

These matters have been discussed at the Patient Participation Group meeting on 17th January and agreed with the members.
