A530 closed after accident

One of Britain's most notorious stretches of road is the scene of yet another accident.

The A530 Baddington Lane was closed both ways this afternoon following a traffic accident between Nantwich and the A525 Whitchurch Road junction with the A525 Shropshire Lane at Burleydam.

The road has been closed since 3pm, affecting traffic between Nantwich and Whitchurch. No further details are yet available.

The A530 road near Burleydam has been named as the fifth most dangerous road in Britain.

A recent report by the Road Safety Foundation says the A530 between Burleydam and Nantwich has been the scene of a total of 21 fatal or serious road traffic accidents in the five years between 2007 and 2011
