The A-Team are in town

Canal Volunteers are back

On Friday 20th of the month, we at long last were able to get onto the lovely canal and try to brighten up the place, after it being neglected due to you know what..?.

Joining us for the day were two lovely ladies from Hurleston, we thank you both for your efforts, plus our Ange CRT who kept us supplied with hot and cold drinks.

We concentrated on a painting job long over due, and the handrail leading down to lock 13 on the offside was treated to a new coat of paint.

We also did a bit of vegetation work around the same area, and seeing that our numbers were a little on the low side, as two of the A team were on a mission, ably assisting a boat from lock 1 to lock 15 well done those guys.
So our first days work done as a great group of volunteers we hope to have many more days out where we can help in some way to make the Audlem canal look and feel a lot better..
