ADCA seeks a Carers Support Worker

Part-time, 12 hours per week, for 6 months initially (may be extended); £10 per hour. Some extra hours may become available.

Audlem & District Community Action (ADCA) are seeking a Carers Support Worker to join our services to older people and carers in the Audlem area.

The successful candidate will be responsible to our Community Services Manager and will manage our Carers Support Group and work closely with the staff team to manage supported places in our Lunch Clubs for people who are being cared for.

Are you the one?

You must have good working knowledge of the issues faced by family and lone carers, and of the help and support they may be entitled to.

You must have experience of working with or caring for people with dementia.

You must have a good understanding of the changing needs of vulnerable older people, along with good communication and organisational skills. You must be able to help with meal preparation. You must be able to assist people flexibly and non-judgmentally, recognising everyone's right to live in the manner of their choosing.

You must have your own transport, as you may work in different venues.

People with experience of supporting carers, or working with people with dementia or with other vulnerable adults in paid, voluntary or family roles are welcome to apply.
