This article has been contributed by Tim Dobson, who, with his brother Mark and their families, are justifiably proud of their Dad, who is 80 today.

Dad, Marshall Dobson, was born at the High Ash Farm in Brindley in 1935, the son of Douglas and Mary Dobson, (who are both buried in Wybunbury, by the old church tower).

He lived there until 1945, when the family moved to Rope Farm, Shavington, where his brother, David still farms. Having spent the earlier part of his life working with horses as a dealer and trainer, and as a first class rider, he took over the farm following his fathers death in 1957.

Until 1968 he farmed there, with his brother milking cows. On getting married to Jenifer Crowe from Wrexham in 1968 they took on the tenancy of Radmore Green Farm in Spurstow. (where Marnie & I still farm).

They retired to Audlem in 2000 and bought a house on Daisybank Crescent. The love of his life has been his racing pigeons and Dad has been a successful member of Audlem Homing society since then.

He is seen cycling through the village on most days, ostensibly to buy a newspaper, but most likely to chat with his mates.
