Yesterday saw a major event with the TLI National Road Race Championships held here in Audlem hosted by Audlem Cycling Club.

Race HQ was the Public Hall and the circuit featured racing coming directly through the village!

The races started in the morning at 10.00am – the weather was poor but fortunately not as bad as later in the day – with the groups being led out onto the circuit from the centre of the village up the Whitchurch road.

The racers then turned into Shavington Park in Burleydam and rode through to the lodge house on the far side of Adderley returning back to Audlem on the A529 up Green Lane and then back onto the Whitchurch Road (A525).

Each lap is 10.5 miles and the racers completed the loop 6 times meaning a total of 63 miles, with the Whitchurch Road section into a fierce headwind!

Our thanks to Frank Morris for the great photographs and congratulations to Audlem Cycling Club for bringing this event to the village.
