Exhibition
ASET have set up an exhibition in the Public Hall about wartime village life to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion and Armistice Day which falls on 11/11/11.
The exhibition will be visited by several sets of local schoolchildren during the day and is open (free) to the general public from 10.30am to about 4.00pm.
The exhibition includes a 25-minute film which many children and adults in the village have been involved in making. The picture, taken by Alison Wood, was taken during filming.
Dance
In the evening a Wartime Dance takes place, with the Trent River Big Band playing dance classics from the 1940’s.
Doors will open at 7.15pm for anyone wishing to view the short film portraying Audlem lives during the war years, produced by the Audlem 5A Drama Group (25 minutes).
Music starts at 8.00 pm prompt. Dancing is not compulsory so just come along and soak up some of the best 1940's music. Period dress is entirely optional.
A bar will available and tickets are just £8.00 and can be reserved at Audlem Post Office or online at info@aset-audlem.org
