I had a scam tonight supposedly from Microsoft, locked my screen, automatic voice telling me to ring a telephone number to solve. Looked at Microsoft website and it says they would never ask you to ring.
Fortunately didn't use.
Would it be possible to have a bonfire on or near 5th November this year for us Oldies in Audlem?
We don't need display fireworks or music!!
I'm sure there are lots of older people who can't or don't want to travel miles to a bonfire, but would really appreciate one in Audlem.
I've been advised that Andrew Bradshaw is the person to speak to re Tax Advice. Unfortunately, I can't find his contact details in the AOL Directories. Can anyone help please?
Many thanks.
Many thanks for your replies.
Howard; What do you mean? They were rubbish! Haha.
John; That's a bit too clever for me. Not toooooo sure I get it. ;-)
Having said all that, I still can't believe someone who is actually on what ever comittee it is for music (unless of course, Howard and John are on said comittee) won't come on here and answer my simple question. It's almost like they don't want me to play in Audlem. Hmm...there's a thought...maybe they don't and because I'm slow on the up-take, it's taken me all this time to realise it.
If anyone has lost a black springer spaniel type dog it has just run across the fields at Laurel Bank Farm Woore Road Audlem.
Billy, The White Lion at Hankelow have Sunday evening live music sessions. Based on the duo I saw performing there a few weeks ago, I think you would be a perfect fit.
Billy – I think the answer to your oft asked question lies within the question itself....... :-)
Just wondering how long I have to ask this question for until, A; Someone answers it or, B: AOL get fed up with me asking it and ban me.
Anyway, here goes again; Regarding the music events in the Village...do you have to ask to play or, do you have to wait to be asked to play?
I thank you. ;-)
There are 5 main courses which state 'vegan option available'. It looks to me like veggies and vegans are pretty well catered for.
Ann mentions 'at least one veggie option in the lighter bites' ... yay the veggies! I'm not (yet) veggie but do prefer to eat that way if the option is there.
Might it not have been better to contact The Lord Combermere for their reaction Elizabeth? If you look though you will find at least one veggie option in the lighter bites . I wish the new management all the best.
Fully agree regarding the vegetarian options, cannot understand why it's so difficult to just offer a few. ...... its a shame as I was looking forward to the new menu too. I will probably just pop in for a drink though.
I quite agree with Geraint. It's a shame that someone's first instinct is to complain on social media and take the attitude "I won't be going there" when maybe all that's required is to speak to the Lord Combermere, who I'm sure will be happy to address the issue.
Elizabeth Hollinshead, I also looked at the Menu, does "Vegan" not satisfy your vegitarian needs?
At this time of trauma for businesses in general and pubs in particular, aren't we in Audlem lucky to be able to welcome Paul, the new landlord of the Lord Combermere, rather than have it follow the fate of the Crown and the Lamb Hotels that were converted into living accommodation in times gone by. The new menu looks lovely, and I'm sure the provision of a vegetarian option is only a small matter that can be easily adjusted
I know you can't please all of the people all of the time but I am really disappointed that the menu does not have any vegetarian options for the main course. That will exclude my family from visiting and it's very unusual nowadays. I was looking forward to the opening
....then, not 45 minutes later. some 'person' in a white pick-up, stops outside the same gates, got out, urinated on the road, got back in his vehicle, threw an empty Red Bull tin on the road and drove off!
You've all heard the saying; "You can't judge a book by it's cover'. Well, I'll argue with that because you can!!!
What is wrong with people!!!!
To the kind person who stopped outside my house (because of the traffic lights) got out of their car, threw a used toilet roll over my gate, got in the car and drove off. Many thanks; just what I wanted! You should have saved it and chucked it at me when I'm on stage....if I ever actually do go on stage again that is!
Anyway; I'm just off to check my CCTV camera footage. ;-)
Well done, KISA RC – what a lovely thing to do in helping the fair maiden (is that allowed these days?) through, what must have been a stressful experience. I find just entering a supermarket stressful.
Ann – I would use your Apple pay in our excellent Co-op as practice, then you can produce it at 'big scary shops' with a flourish. I practised with mine at Lord C – it knows Shiraz very well now :)
I hope John has a speedy recovery from that scary operation!
Is it just me or is £100 a year for the increase in the costs of "off grid" heating a joke.
Why are we not getting similar support from the government as people who has access GAS, is it become we are the minority?
Thanks Bob. ;-)
Tuesday I drove John to Leighton, my fourth trip there in nine days , for a double cataract operation. I didn't want to wait for up to five hours so went to Sainsbury at Nantwich, first supermarket visit for longer than I remember. In my excitement I did get a little carried away and after meeting a few Audlem friends I eventually fetched up at the tills. I don't use self service tills, partly incompetence and mainly as it seems to be taking a job from someone. Panic set in when I had to pay! My Apple pay set up by our eldest granddaughter failed to work, much stress for myself and the long queue behind me, sorry folks!
Two or three cards later as I feverishly tried different numbers i was escorted to the customer service desk. Tried again , still not sure if that card has been blocked, but a knight in shining armour, mild exaggeration, in the form of RC from Audlem , took it upon himself to pay the substantial amount for me.
I'm not sure that this would happen in many places. I am very grateful and yes, he has been paid back although that stretched my online skills somewhat.
As she was my Mother in Law I assure you that her name was Emmy
Her first name started with an 'E'. It's not a quiz; I'd just like to know/remember. So would a few of my ex Audlem mates. So if it's ok with you (you know who you are) would you mind reminding us of Mrs Eatons first name please?
Dear M Brown
