Hi – can anyone recommend someone form the village to provide tax return support ? Thanks so much , Shelley
I would be grateful to know if anyone took a photograph of the sinkhole near to the Butter Market prior to 5th July, or if anyone reported it to the Council.
Many thanks
I wholeheartedly agree that NFU, whilst not the cheapest, are quick , efficient and fair in dealing with claims. We were hit by a tornado a number of years ago causing extensive damage to house, barns and outbuildings and NFU dealt with the crisis brilliantly and we have insured with them ever since.
I'm fully aware that this subject is now under police investigation, but as a matter of interest to all council tax payers, can the PC just inform us of the current balance in the accounts. This information can in no way prejudice the ongoing investigation as it is merely a statement of fact and after all, it is our money.
We have oil fired central heating and we use Admiral. No fuss.
Hello,
Does anybody know what time the vehicles are required to be at Hankelow on Sunday morning?
Thanks,
Wayne Farrington.
Great news Rachel and thank you to all involved.
Common sense prevails finally.
At least in this case.
Nigel.
Try The NFU, not the cheapest but the cover is excellent.
I am sure I was not the only one surprised when all the spaces by the hall were left and those by the doctors removed. This was brought home to me today when although entitled to use a disabled space there was an ordinary space nearer the surgery so we parked there. Meanwhile there were several vacant disabled spaces and none left for non disabled of whom there was a regular stream. Should I have moved??
I am thrilled to provide an update on the decision of Cheshire East Highway Committee. The recommendation to approve the inclusion of Coole Lane Audlem into the treated network for winter gritting, 2022/23, was unanimously approved.
Thank you to all the parishes within the CE Audlem Ward, residents, blue light emergency services, CE Highway Service and Members of the Committee for their support which has resulted in such a positive outcome to our campaign.
I am acutely aware of the roads which aren't included in the winter gritting programme, but the decision to conduct an annual review of routes is most welcome in that we can continue 'the fight' for our area.
Thank you to the person who rerturned the boot to the bottom of my drive. It has now been reuinited with its rightful owner. The power of Chatbox neverceaes to amaze me

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I
I have just had my buildings and contents insurance and the cost has risen by 30% (LV). I have not made any claims and would like to shop around, but am finding it difficult finding an insurance company prepared to cover my house with OIL central – any suggestions?
Morning Ann

I have tried unsuccessfully so far to locate someone to fix the curtain holder above our very wide front windows. The wall has at some stage been damp and it was really sad in this weather to not be able to close curtains against the south facing view.
Also various jobs finishing one bathroom just plastering and painting one wall . Various little shelves and curtain rails to be fitted can anybody help we are getting too old for such things.
Lost dog – black cockapoo called George wearing a green collar with dickie bow. Call 07788892100
Please may my dog be excused from the hot weather warning – she is from St Vincent in the Caribbean and loving it. Of course the owner (me), on the other hand , has to seek the shade – so we do actually stick to the leafy lanes and meadows around the village.
Just to add to all the hot weather warnings, never ever leave chocolate in your cars! You will return to a melting mass which you will end up having to suck like a calypso...other ice lollies can be used!
Also, let's get our priorities right, after the chocolate, animals and children should be kept an eye on.
papers delivered early, post delivered early, we really have gone back to 1976, i`m even listening to Status Quo!
I was disheartened today (Sunday) to see so many dog owners walking their dogs through the village during the hottest part of the day. If you care about your dogs please consider your animals during periods of extreme heat. If in doubt pop a fur coat on and walk bare foot on the pavements to experience what it is like for your pets.
We are arranging a Nantwich Grammar School reunion on the 10th September . The majority of us are 60 this year and attended the grammar school between 1973 and 1978. There were a fair few pupils who attended Grammar school from the Audlem and Buerton areas. It would be really lovely to see as many people as possible. Can you contact me if you would like to attend. Looking for Stuart Seabridge, Malcolm Holman, Tim Rees
Can anyone advise: is there a mobile car valeting service operating locally? Can't see anything in the directory.
Hi,
If you could contact me at ajb.buckley@gmail.com with your address details I can pop a brochure round for you
Thanks

You read my mind Billy. I was just saying to a friend last night, I'd like to know how long they're going to be there just so I can stock up on anniversary cards.... But seriously, the signage for the lights is completely blocking the pavement, thereby creating a new problem that wasn't there before. I suppose I should be more proactive and contact the highways agency, but I'm still mustering up the energy to do it.
The work that's been done in Green Lane recently has been superb (pavement and Brook work) but.....wait for it.....what's with the traffic lights? Maybe they're in competition with the Adderley ones perhaps? Or, possibly it's to give the Green Lane Dragstrip a more realistic feel and a fair chance for everyone off the Start Line.
But seriously though..why are they there? I realise if theres work going on the workers need to be protected but since they've been up, no work has been carried out. Mind you, it's not like they're costing any money to be there.........oh, hold on a minute..... ;-(
