Hi Carrie,
We design websites for businesses, we have simple affordable pay-monthly packages with no up front costs. We all live locally – and we also created AudlemOnline. Call: 01244 478727
Thanks :)
Can anybody recommend a roofer/tiler to reposition tiles which have slipped on a roof?
A massive thank you to all members of ASET and their many helpers at Hankelow and the Showfield who gave us yet another fantastic Festival of Transport . We must also mention the Hankelow breakfast team for their fantastic work feeding us at the beginning of the big day.
The enthusiasm of Audlem residents who line the streets during the parade really makes the day special and is very much enjoyed by all of the Show entrants. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we are looking forward to the 2023 Show.
you might like to try Heather Lyall.. email : netresonance@yahoo.co.uk..... she would probably help or know someone suitable.
On the 2nd August 1973, I was visiting the Isle of Man. One of the main attractions was Summerland entertainment centre which was designed on the side of a rock face. Inside it was laid out like an Hawaiian beach, bamboo tables with thachted umbrellas, bamboo seats, sandy beach and a large dance floor. To one side a large swimming pool to the other side the stairs to the saunas and massage rooms. The back wall was the rock face and the front wall made up of tall glass panarammic windows looking out across the bay. Above the windows a type of acrylic sheeting.
I mentioned to the friends from the hotel, this was a tinder box waiting to off. There were about two thousand people in the building, which had no sprinkler system, the fire doors were chained and the turnstiles would only let you in.
Later that night, the devil opened the gates of hell, the building went up in flames, enough said.
Having worked with architects around the country, when it comes to fire protection I hear the same answer, " why install something you hope you'll never use".
Have we learnt anything from this and many other fires?

Hi Julie, I might be able to help out, if you'd like to send me an email at jess_williams1@yahoo.com to discuss what you're looking for!
Well that was yet another absolutely fantastic Transport Festival! Well done to everyone who worked hard tidying up our beautiful village beforehand, the Marshall's etc and to all those who entered vehicles. Another well done to all the entertainment you were all amazing and to the concession stands too. The boats looked lovely and how amazing was that old plane? What a fantastic weekend. WELL DONE EVERYONE'
Hi – does anyone know anyone who can help with setting up a simple website please? Marginally commercial, but largely information only. I know things like Wix and Wordpress are supposed to be self-explanatory, but not to me they're not!! And I have tried!!! Site requirements not complex. More than happy to pay but commercial firms ask crazy money. A techie teenager could probably do it in no time :) Thanks.
Hi Simon if you are unable to get a decent speed from BT take a look at Airband (https://www.airband.co.uk/broadband-coverage-checker/) they provide a wireless service of upto 40MBits/sec across Shropshire and South Cheshire and will soon be rolling out full fibre
Can anyone recommend someone who can help with our smart tv,s. Our wifi is really poor and according to Bt will not be getting an up grade soon Advice on boosters etc would be greatfully received
Thanks
Having spent some time, in the rain, ensuring that the corner of Hillary Drive and Heathfield Road
Looks good ahead of todays Transport Festival I was dismayed to find a huge pile of dog waste
sat in the middle of the green. As a dog lover and owner tell me how any Walker could allow their charge to leave such without picking up. Weather permitting I would expect a number of families will congregate on this corner green to watch the parade pass bye. Hope you are ashamed of yourself. Yes I had to pick up for you once again. Does anyone actually ever get fined for this anti social behaviour?
Jo and Allan, just to say a big thank you for your time running the L.C. You have truly been an asset to the village, always ready and willing to go the extra mile and especially so during Covid lockdown. Your management has brought 13 years of sunshine into the heart of our village. Very sad to see you go, but you have laboured under the Brewery's shadow long enough. Have a well-earned rest and may smiley times lie ahead for all your family.
Sadly, Covid has stopped us saying goodbye in person.
Peter and Jan
Just got back from another brilliant session of walking football on the playing field. A big thank you to Alex who organises the sessions. I have been going several weeks now and every week has been different. Sometimes a little challenging but at all times great fun. I've got a bit fitter and just as important met some fab people.
Come along on a Friday morning for a go, the first session is even free. Just make sure you don't undo all your hard work buy tucking into cakes when we go for a post match coffee/ tea!
To deter those motorists who choose speed through our village  I have recently been given the go ahead to re-life the Audlem Speed Watch scheme.
I am looking for volunteers, approx 10 new members to be part of the Audlem Speed watch team rota.
In agreement with Nick Jarvis our local PC all information of speeding vehicles will be sent to Nick for him to deal with.
I plan to hold a meeting once every two months to arrange a rota for volunteers allowing 2-3 checks (with luck) per week to encourage drivers going through Audlem to adhere to the speed limit.
Anybody interested please respond to gmacbrown@hotmail.com
Hi
Can anyone recommend a painter to paint my fascia boards please
Hello Sue. Paul here. I have a photo of your Granddad sitting in a garden chair. Coincidentely, in his garden. I don't know where it is though. The photo I mean, not the garden chair. Mind you, I don't know where the garden chair is either as well because, it wasn't, and never has been, my chair. I have my very own chair here but it wasn't your Grandparents chair. It does look quite similar though so, you never know. I don't think it is though. My chair is in colour whereas the chair in the picture is in black and white.
Are the pictures you have able to view anywhere? I have happy memories of when my Mum used to work there but it's not quite the same as seeing actual pictures. :-)
Just saw the photos of the Combermere. I've got some photos from 1960/70s when my grandparents were the landlords. Growing up in Audlem, staying with my grandparents, left me very happy memories of the village
Hello, Can anyone recommend a home from home kennels or possible sitter for three small Shih Tzu the youngest of which is very timid – the dates I am looking for are the 3rd – 18th of September?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Hi Sandra, I'm a pet sitter/walker, if you'd like to send me an email and I'll send you my number from there I might be able to help you out, my email is jess_williams1@yahoo.com, thank you
Hello good people,
Just wondering whether anyone could recommend a person who could look after my 2 dogs from the 12th September for about 12 days, preferably in my own home, just off Coole Lane, or II would also consider home boarding.... Due to unforeseen circumstances, my previous arrangement has had to cancel.. The dogs are 2 years and a puppy of 4 months. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you
Well said PETER MORGAN .
It's time they told everyone what's in the accounts , it's time we saw an audit account .
I would recommend Jeanette Snape – 01270 20335036 – Jeanette.snape@aims.co.uk
I've changed house insurer several times and never had an issue with oil fired heating.
I agree NFU are very good, but also expensive. They are also a Which? Recommended Supplier.
Try using Confused.com (other comparison sites are available) and if you buy through them you get a reward voucher. One of the current options is a £20 Lidl voucher (other options are available).
It's a fact that many types of insurance have increased over the last 2 years. One reason is that insurance companies have been banned from offering cheapo introductory rates to new customers. New and existing customers must now be offered the same price.
Is there anyone in the village (Parish Council, Cheshire East, MP,...) who is responsible for fixing the current nuisance with the green lights, and of at least informing the village about the status and the next steps?
I heard, but could just be a rumour, that the verge of the road collapsed??? & hence the lights.
From past experience with Cheshire East, co-ordinating efforts would bear better and possibly some results.
My understanding:
a. Just checked : https://one.network/uk/cheshireeast – I don't see any work planned for the section of Green Lane.
b. Someone has logged the issue on another Cheshire East website on 22nd July : https://fixmystreet.cheshireeast.gov.uk/report/3697071
with reference number : 3697071. The disclaimer response from Cheshire East is of no help unfortunately.
Do we need to log more of the same issue to bring the topic up the priority list? Please advise.
The chatbox – only up to recently, I could filter down chats by topics. I don't see it any longer in my browser. Is this a browser issue, or has the feature been removed due to technicalities or possibly legalities?
