This morning I checked the application on the Cheshire East website, AND the consultation period end date is still 06.03.25.
Can the Parish Council please;
- Clarify whether Cheshire East has accepted to postpone the consultation deadline – I seem to understand that they have NOT as yet. Personally, I intend to submit my comments before the 06.03.25
- Inform us when Cheshire East accepts or declines to postpone the deadline, and for whom? That is, whether it's postponed for the Parish Council ONLY, OR also for the general public.
- AND, can the Parish Council provide an example, or a template, of applicable and effective comments that we should submit?
14 years today at 12.50 Jan and I were greatly blessed to be able to walk out of the damaged remains of Christchurch cathedral NZ without injury following the hugely damaging earthquake that claimed the lives of 185 people, 3000 injured and left the city in ruins. Our grateful thanks to all the wonderful people of Christchurch who were so helpful to us despite all their own fears and hardship in those devastating hours and days.
.God bless them all.

Does anyone know of a good storage place for household goods ?
Hi Kate,
I would be very interested to know what the internet speed would be like there. Is there a fibre connection all the way to the property or is it fibre to the green box and then copper from the box to the property?
Thanks,
Sally
Missing cat. Black and very fat and very fluffy.
Woore rd, in between bath lane and mount pleasant. Comes to the name "Pusscat", he is microchipped as Horatio and is wearing a tracking collar albeit flat. All of his contact details are upto date on his microchip from when we adopted him nearly a year ago and had him chipped.
There's two children missing their beloved friend
I agree wholeheartedly with everything already said. Audlem cannot take a housing application of such size. If anyone has driven or walked along the road through Tollgate they know it is totally unsuitable as an access to such a proposed development. There is often cars parked outside properties which actually could make it very dangerous.Traffic will be so heavy through the village, and as we all know it is struggling now.
We are being told all the time about ' air quality' – surely the air quality for those already living on Tollgate will be horrendous as their homes are too close to the access road.
Medical centre- everyone needs to be registered to a GP- does our surgery have the capacity to take such an increase? Likewise the primary school.?
To any reasonable and realistic person 133 new houses accessed by Tollgate Drive is madness. Consider that many households have at least 2 cars, that would be around 266 additional cars driving through Tollgate Drive to get to the main road. These would be using a road never intended to carry this additional number of cars. In addition the 233 cars would need to get out onto the main road with Green Lane directly opposite. The problem even gets worse as many of these cars will want to drive through what is already a bottle neck in the village. Of course, before we have to tolerate this congestion we would have, probably a couple of years, of heavy plant, large delivery lorries and workmens's vans trying to get through to the site, past existing houses with cars parked outside these houses.
I think the previous application for houses on this site was refused, has anything changed from the original application?
Yes! I would love this! I work for the university but am based full time at home and would love a change of venue and some'co-workers' without making the trip to the office sometimes! High speed reliable internet would be a must, a mix of open desks and those with some privacy would be good, maybe links to local businesses for refreshments (Jan Lek, Tearoom etc), charging points, a printer or scanner available, and at a reasonable price (!)
Yes it is a real boat that forms the bar at the Shroppie Fly
Does anyone know if the boat at the bar in she Shroppie Fly is a real boat?
133 new houses with one access through Tollgate Drive ! Madness
Well said Margaret. I couldn't agree more.
The last time a planning application was put in for this land in 2016 the flood plain was pointed out to the applicant. At that time only 5 houses were planned for that part of the field.
Also the land going down to the canal, almost directly beyond the Tollgate entrance was considered to be outside the village boundary for housing and also a landscape worth keeping.
Chris Fennell in market Drayton is excellent. Fixed our washing machine and oven in the past.

We are considering setting up a coworking/hot desking space in Audlem and would love to hear what people think.
* Would you use a coworking/hot desking space in Audlem?
* What features make a coworking/hot desking space appealing?
* What do you like or dislike about coworking/hot desking spaces?
Constructive opinions would be appreciated.
Kate
It would make a real change if builders actually consulted residents or even the Parish Council to establish "The Housing Need" for the village rather than submit plans for houses that will make them the most profit. It is unbelievable that they feel it will have no Environmental Impact especially as the location is by the River Weaver, but at least it will provide the water features for many gardens when it floods.
Has account been taken into account of impact on the school village, nursery, and medical facilities. Have they taken into account that we have no pubic transport? We know that there is a housing shortage but why not plan constructively and not purely to meet the required government targets. What new facilities will be part of the planning permission apart from open areas for recreation. Best guess in NONE.
Thank you Chris, appreciated.
Always helpful to have word of mouth recommendations

Posting this here as people need to know that 133 new dwellings are being proposed to be built.

Does anyone have contact details for a reliable washing machine repair man? I simply refuse to buy a new machine!
I know they're slightly out of the village, but have you tried The White Lion at Hankelow or Overwater Marina?
Does anyone have or know of any rooms to rent for the 13th and 14th of February in the village, as everywhere seems to booked up.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone had experience of fitting ramp or lift and fixings in van, bus, taxi etc? Trying to find local firm.
Thank you Moira for your recommendation of Pebbles. Kim
Mark Longley, who lives in the village, has on more than one occasion done an excellent job at a fair rate for us. Mobile : 07881 874439
Thank you Sandra for your recommendation
