Judy Evans on Car park

14th January 2025 @ 6:19am

I would like to clarify, having sat through a CE parking consultation meeting, that the cameras on the car park are primarily for security and safety purposes, and are NOT APNR cameras. In fact it was revealed during the meeting, that none of the car parks solely owned and run by CE, currently use APNR cameras, as they presently do not hold the appropriate licence. Therefore 'dropping off' at the doctors, if taking a few seconds, and assuming you do not abandon your car completely, should not ordinarily attract any fine.

Peter Morgan on Installation of a pedestrian footpath and tactile crossing

13th January 2025 @ 6:59pm

Whist navigating the Green and associated traffic lights today I was surprised, as were some of the residents, to see the work in progress. The ones that I spoke to who live adjacent, were totally unaware of the project, and it was not mentioned in any of the parish council meetings that I attended last year. It is possible that it had been discussed at some meeting in an earlier year or decade, knowing how long it takes the council to get things moving.
The main concern was the point of exit of the crossing which is just before the sharp bend from the Green into Heathfield Road. Dare we assume that the council will provide a safe crossing facility at this point to safeguard the children? And why do we need to ask these questions which would have been unnecessary had CEC taken the trouble to inform and possibly, even consult local residents beforehand?

Brian Scanlon on Car park

13th January 2025 @ 10:04am

Given the camera coverage of audlem car park are you at risk being dropped off and or collected without using a bay? Why can't you feed the meter if you find your appointment has taken longer than expected/ paid ? The sign indicated no return within an hour.
I'm trying to avoid a penalty if possible.

Rachel Bailey on Installation of a pedestrian footpath and tactile crossing

13th January 2025 @ 9:40am

CEC works are due to take place this week at Little Heath, Cheshire Street to install a 'tactile crossing and footpath', in a bid to improve access for families to school all users. Operatives expect to be on site for the next five days.

The cost of this has been sourced partly from the Audlem Ward Member Budget but mainly via the Pedestrian Crossing Budget.

Paddy Kenshole on William's Audlem

12th January 2025 @ 11:42am

I have lived in the village for Forty years & how blessed we are to have a shop like William's in the village, I have always found what ever I needed, so on Saturday I thought I will get the better of Judy as I had punctured the tyre on my Wheel barrow, and having missed the closure of the Bike shop, of I went to Judy's and said to her I bet you, you have not got a tyre repair outfit, her reply was how many do you want! so I failed to outsmart her again.

The only shop I know like this is Bunners of Montgomery.

Could anyone tell me what is happening on Littleheath green? Noone seems to know!
I am led to believe that even the Parish Council are not in the know, word has it that work is due to start on Monday.
Will this mean that other urgent jobs will get seen to as well?
I look forward to hearing more!!

Tony.harker@btinternet.com on Calligraphy advice required

8th January 2025 @ 4:22pm

Hi, I am seeking someone who is either an expert or perhaps a practitioner in the art of calligraphy who would be willing to offer some tuition in the art.

I am keen to learn the skill and am practising but need some practical advice. I have looked extensively on YouTube which has been useful, and have several books on the subject but I would appreciate getting some practical advice on a one-to-one basis to get me started. I am of course happy to pay for any tuition.

I have sought out courses but there is nothing within a reasonable travelling distance.

I would be grateful for any advice or guidance.

Thank you.

R Marsh on Car Park Charges across Cheshire East

30th December 2024 @ 2:38pm

Well done to all for leading the way with the fight against parking charges but I fear local views and our valued local businesses are not given enough consideration by those making decisions. Sad the cycle shop is closing, I cant help wonder if parking has played a part? Last couple of times I came through Audlem village its become very tricky with parked cars and lack of visibility. The highways people should be monitoring this on safety grounds surely?

Paul Harding on Freedom of Information Response

21st December 2024 @ 8:09pm

Thank you, Steve Reece for the information. Seems quite reasonable to me. Park there 3 times a week and have dinner in The Lord Combermere and use the butchers and co-op as well as the Bridge. Not a bad price to par my car. Thank you for taking the time to find out the costs.
