I think these dogs are possibly from the Bonell's farm on Longhill lane just up the hill from the bridle path

When I have used a professional company, they spray the area, from the ground and do not remove the nest because they say it will prevent the wasp coming back to the same area. All the work is completed using long hoses from the ground.

If you can get close to the nest.....Spray with hair spray ( use most of the can ) in the evening when its colder. Leave for an hour then knock off wherever it is into black bag

Just to clarify that at the time I submitted my post John Brooksbank's second post hadn't been published.

I agree with Brian Bugeja.
I had a wasps' nest in my loft several years ago.
I took no action and the wasps did not return the following year, although I had not removed the nest.

Brian, I'd be happy to leave them be until they die off in winter but the roofer wants them gone before he starts work!

Brian Bugeja on Wasp nest in roof removal

I think most of the wasps will leave/die at the end of summer / coming of winter, and the queen may die during the winter months anyway.
I would wait until next summer and see if there are still wasps around.

How fortunate we are to have amongst us a raconteur that can regale us with tales of an excursion to a faraway Knutsford supermarket. I read in the article that a compilation of stories gathered from his exploits around the world is in the offing. With The Middle East and Asia his playground he might even be able to challenge the literary works of Ian Fleming.

Whilst on the whole I found Steph's article amusing I couldn't help but think how I, as a mere man, would be vilified and castigated by the woke brigade if I had made a similar comment about women as in the second of her 'Thoughts'. We live in strange times!

I agree with all that Andrew has said. Can't join a journey that a friend is taking because it says it's fully booked even though they are the only person on it. Always been unable to book anything due to no availability even though there is nobody on board when it passes by me waiting for a taxi.
