I don't ask for anything, although if you opt for any hardware upgrades – memory or SSD you'll need to pay for that.
If you want you can make a donation to the Motor Neurone Disease Association – I'll be setting up a just giving page in memory of my wife shortly.
Message me through Audlem Online with your contact details – the editorial team have been passing them on to me.
Has anyone got a karaoke machine that we could borrow for a session for the senior Dementia Group in Audlem . Please contact me on 07960377167 if you do thanks
A week ago, (last Saturday) I took this small white folding table to put my produce on at the ADAPT market stall but somehow forgot to load it onto my wheelbarrow when I went home.
This morning, (Saturday), when I wanted it for today's stall, I realised it was missing!
Asking at the Lord Combermere pub today, they said they had seen it, but thought someone had come back to collect it.
So, if anyone had rescued it, please let me know, as I'd be very pleased to have it back!
Thanks.
This is a message for Terry Aston, my laptop currently runs Windows 10, how much would i be looking at please for you to upgrade, if possible, to Windows 11 please?
Kind Regards
Fiona (Buerton)
Nothing to do with the weather but I have just heard of someone who's blouse caught fire and they suffered nasty burns. This used to happen a lot and I am sure nightdresses have to be fire retardant but I don't know about other clothing and I think I read that a child's princess type dress caught fire. Anyone know the regulations and what we should beware of? I think hair sprays and gels can also be a risk.
Windows 11
"Repair rather than replace" is a headline in the recent edition of Which magazine , reminding us all of the importance of not throwing yet more stuff into landfill.
Thanks to Terry Aston our ageing HP laptop computer is now Windows 11 compatible and much faster than it's been for years. Thanks to a new solid state hard drive and the binning of many files I had forgotten I had.
So I am much relieved I don't have to buy a new machine.
Front page of todays Shropshire Star carried an article about the severe drought and the number of fires that had to be dealt with by the hard pressed fire brigades, the great majority of which were caused by the thoughtless use of barbecues and garden bonfires. The environment is so dry that drifting sparks can set alight grass and shrubs some distance away from the initial source. Please be careful.
Hello, I'm moving to Audlem shortly and wondered which broadband provider is best for this area. We tend to stream a lot of tv so it would be great to get a provider that can deliver good download speeds.
All good in theory, but the fact is W10 has been around for some time, and most of the equipment it is installed on is just as old. Installing W11 onto these older machines will just feel sluggish and you'll have a bad experience. Far better to install a version of Linux. Zorin is free to use and is the closest to windows as you can get.
But, if you're a windows fan then I would purchase a PC that has W11 pre-installed, or better still get a Mac.
For those of you who get caught up in traffic chaos that often prevails in Audlem, you might like to know that the Muller planning proposal advises that the traffic impact (Survey conducted by Eddisons on behalf of Muller) of the proposed development on the village is negligible!!. If you don't agree with this then now is the time to challenge it by objecting.
To anyone who faints at the thought of having to register with the Cheshire East Planning in order to have their say about Muller's Planning Application for houses on land off Moorsfield Avenue -
Worry no more!
I phoned the Planning Dept yesterday, as we'd had some trouble trying to register and they recommended a much easier version:
1. All you need is your email account
2. Click 'compose' to open a new email to send
3. Put the following email address in 'To' space – planappcomments@cheshireeast.gov.uk
Be very careful to get it correct
4. Put something like 'Response to Muller Plan 25/2194/OUT ' in the SUBJECT space
5. I just gave my name and address and said that I had attached a WORD document with my views on the above Planning Application
6. Open a new WORD document to write your views (if you haven't yet done so) and SAVE it where you can find it
7. Go to the 'Attach file'(a paper clip sign, if you've not tried this before) at the bottom of the email and click on it
8. Find where you saved your WORD file, click on it , and then click 'OPEN' – it will appear on your email
9. Now just click SEND and it's done!
So –
Don't delay – have your say! – by this coming Wednesday August 20th
I hope this helps someone.
Gentle Reminder
To have your say about the planning application to build up to 127 dwellings on land adjacent to Moorsfield Avenue/ to the rear of Tollgate Drive, your response must be logged on Cheshire East Council's website by Wednesday, 20th August.
To register and object to Planning Application 25/2194/OUT through the Cheshire East Planning Portal
If you have registered previously with Cheshire East Council Planning, just go to the Cheshire East Council website
If you haven't registered previously, just follow the above steps, & select Register'

Is the CE Planning officer (Daniel Evans, I believe) attending the meeting on the 4th September?
Yes, children and dogs are taken on a walk, but canal boats! Could the cause be exhaustion – too long a walk maybe?
A buy sell posting leads to someone coming and taking away something you had meant to get rid of for ages! Delight all round.
Does anyone know of a hedge cutting contractor using a tractor?

Great to see clean up and reinstatement activity on the park this morning but how many times and at what cost does this have to be repeated? Surely the significant damage to the trees and shrubbery is criminal damage and preventative action should be taken.
