REPAIR CAFÉ UPDATE
Since the article in Audlem Online about the proposed Audlem Repair Café, a group of enthusiastic volunteers with a range of skills have come together and had initial discussions about the practicalities of holding a monthly Repair Café in the village. We have been encouraged by the positive comments on AOL and the AOL Facebook page. ADAPT is very supportive and keen to be part of the plan.
A visit to the Repair Café run by Tattenhall Transition Group is planned for us to see a repair café in action and learn from their experience and it is anticipated that we will be able to run something similar in Audlem soon under the auspices of ADAPT as the concept falls neatly within the aims of that well-established group.
Additional volunteers are welcome: portable household items and appliances are the sort of things we anticipate will be brought to a Repair Café so volunteers with the skills and expertise in repairing that sort of thing are what we are looking for. The wider the range of knowledge and skills we have, the better the Repair Café will be able to help the village to avoid throwing away perfectly usable items. If you know someone who you think would be ideal, why not mention it to them? We would be very pleased to hear from them.
Some fundraising will be important to get the Repair Café off the ground and there will be more information about that shortly. We very much hope that the village will join together and support the idea of a Repair Cafe.
I will try to give updates on Audlem Online as we move forward and anyone who does want to join us should drop me an email at:

Just a note to say a big congratulations to Judy and her family and staff for the recently awarded Retail Award. The shop is always welcoming and interesting to go into and is a constant in the ever changing village. Thanks Judy.
A Big thank you to all the volunteers i saw clearing the pathways around the scout hut on Sunday Morning.
What a fantastic job you have all done.
Much appreciated.
If that is the cost there's going to be a very big Green Bin graveyard somewhere
So CE are contemplating charging £53.00 a year to empty your green bin, this being so I am wondering if there will be a reduction in council tax for those of us who don't get the following:
Storm drains emptied
Street lights
Roads gritted
Verges maintained
Potholes repaired
Roads swept
I would like to wager this comes to more than the proposed cost of emptying your green bin??
What a wonderful panto.! Oh yes it was! We are tourists staying at Combermere and we came to Hansel and Gretel on Saturday. We thoroughly enjoyed the production and were impressed by the quality of the show and the obvious community spirit. Thank you.
Hi, there is a now road closure sign in Stafford street. Anyone know what's being done. Hopefully they won't be digging much up, as since the last resurfacing it's been the smoothest for 25 years!
Does anyone know if any of the shops in Audlem have cctv outside? Or anyone in Audlem at 12.30 today, 4th Feb, see/have dashcam footage of a blue tractor with a flatbed trailer? It hit us by the bridge on A525 but failed to stop. Any help appreciated as our car is badly damaged.
Anyone know what ALL the HGV's are doing up and down Longhill Lane starting at 07.00 in the morning. My house shakes, but at least I can save on a alarm clock.
Hi Emma,
From start to finish, including the interval break, it's around 2.5 hours.
Could anyone tell me how long the panto running time is please? Many thanks
Loved the show tonight. Congrats to everyone involved. Great fun. If the rest of the run goes half as well folks are in for a treat.
Well as a dog owner I am happy to pick up my dogs doggie doos and then put it in the required bin.
However, you secret dog poo people that do not think that they have to do that ......I am watching you!
Be afraid ...be very afraid!
I am taking pictures of your activities!
How dare you act so irresponsibly!? why do you think that it is okay to hang your doggie poo in the trees and hedges along the walks in AUDLEM.
Your arrogance is unbelievable !
I have some evidence already,
,love taking pictures of doggy doos hanging in trees etc (Not really,I think you are disgusting.)
And...more than that you are in the village, you enjoy all the things that we do in this lovely village.
YOU are spoiling all our attempts at making this a wonderful place to live!
Hi, the Guides collect these amongst lots of other things like bread wrappers, empty toothpaste packaging, cheese wrappers etc. There are collection boxes outside the Scout and Guide Hall on Cheshire Street.
I have just been walking along the bridleway between Bunsley Bank & Longhill Lane. There was a tractor spreading in the field next to it. I was engulfed in thick grey dust that covered my clothes. It was so dense that I couldn't see to the end of the bridleway, although I was near the end. It was absolutely choking. I appreciate that farmers need to spread and I 'm not complaining about that. My questions are, what is it? I'm assuming it was lime. Is it harmful?
Does anyone know of anyway of recycling FRocher boxes? I have a feeling that I read on here that someone was collecting them a while ago
I might be interested in some of it if I could have some contact details
Hi Marilyn,
We look forward to welcoming you to the hall for the show!
There is a fully stocked bar for all your drink and snack requirements. We have a strict NO NUTS policy, and our bar is stocked appropriately.
When you're in your seats, you'll find that the bar is "behind you!"
Hello, this may seem a strange question, but not when you are organising nibbles and drinks! :-)
Could anybody advise if it will be seating only for the Panto, or are there tables as well?
Look forward to receiving your help, oh yes I am!
There are a small number of additional tickets that have been made available for the evening shows, last minute bookings welcome for Thurs / Fri / Sat evening, 7:30pm at the Public Hall:

I've a few items of studio equipment for disposal ..Interfit Cyberflash 300's, Bowens 5x30w continuous, Sekonic light meter, sundry stands and supports and a roll of Chroma Blue backdrop paper.
Any suggestions?
I would see this as a doubling of opportunities to support local events and charities.
A clash of dates for 2 worthy causes in 25 th of March . Seems to bo a bit of an oversight by the organisers
