Unfortunately it is with great sadness I have read the news the Cheshire west and Chester council has banned trail hunting on its land. Extremely sad that a council feels the need to ban a perfectly legal pursuit on its land, to me it just goes to show the issue with the campaign of hate against the country/hunting community seems clear to me that it's nothing actually to do with the peoples misguided view on animal welfare issues but more the ideas people have of class and the dislike they have for people wearing red hunt coats on a horse. If only people would take more time to understand the benefits of hunting and understand that when trail hunting no fox is killed they might start to understand the countryside and it's community and traditions a bit more
Just to let you know Bailey the missing cat has returned to his narrowboat hungry & covered in mud but seemingly otherwise unscathed!
Time to bombard the MP with post
Cllr Browns article was a less than illuminating read. A good case of look at what people do not what they say . If safety of road users was such a high priority why the reduction in the gritting programme, that resulted in two accidents on Coole lane last week.
Does anyone know when Audlem first started displaying a Christmas tree in the Square?
Well said by Norman Huntbach on Swanbach Flooding. Sharing and shaming on social media seems to be the only way to get things done.
There is no excuse for the drains on this section of road not to be properly maintained.
Again well done Norman.
MISSING CAT;
If anyone sees Bailey around the Audlem Lock Flight can you please call 07450230303, he doesn't venture far or ever overnight from his boat & is 18yrs old, we think he may have gone off to die as they do but we can't be sure. Medium size, tabby with white chest & white paws, totally symmetrical markings.
Just been to get my Christmas tree for Ollie. Plenty of choice and you can cut your own or he will cut it for you – good price too.
Merry Christmas.
Have I got this right re today's headline article? Does the CE council have a 6 billion (BILLION) pounds road and infrastructure budget and with it they plan to resurface a grand total of 16 miles of our disgraceful roads in the next financial year?????????
They are encouraging us to report potholes, so I have once again reported the annual Paddock lane potholes only to be informed that the works have already been scheduled to take place between the 16th of August and the 21st of December 2021, I kid you not. This really isn't 'the council puts the safety of road users as its highest priority' policy that they claim to have, is it? So have they left it till the weather gets really crappy before they attempt to bodge these holes yet again, or will they just not turn up, I know which one my money is on.
It seems that Cllr Browne is well versed in talking utter tosh. The thirteen issues that I had reported two years ago were marked as having been resolved, whereas not one of them had been addressed. It is not clear however, whether this is a new reporting scheme so that all the existing complaints and observations can be binned in one fell swoop or if there is another motive. I smell BS

I wonder how many objections are coming from the Anywl estate? Some of us didnt want that built either.
I hope the new venture at the Parks is a great success.
With reference to The Parks
People ask, 'why all the objections'
Please read one of the APC documents to find some of the answers to the question.

Janet Maughan will bring some later in the week. They have to be altered slightly as things in the village change.
Well said Bob, I couldn't agree more, the wedding venue at The Parks will be a brilliant asset for the village.
That would be brilliant thank you.
We are organising some things to do for our boaters at the rally in June and this would be a useful addition to their visit.
Quiz question for you but theres no prizes as such.....or at all for that matter. Can anyone tell me when Audlem started erecting Christmas trees in the Square please? Specifically, what year did it start? Theres a valid reason for me asking this but embarrasment permits me from saying what it is at this point but, dependant on the year the 'tree putting up' practise started will either make me tell you why I'd like to know...or not. ;-)
I thank you.
Celia, please could we have a box for the marina?
why all the objections to what could be a spectacular wedding venue . I can only see good coming from this project Brong it on and help the local economy . could be a nice little earner for our local students .
I have boxes of them, in the pandemic I have not been leaving them at the shops but can take some down to canal shop on Sunday if that helps.
Does anyone have a copy of the Historical walk around Audlem leaflet I can borrow?
The important thing is for residents to take the opportunity, if they wish, to post their views on the planning portal and e mail environmental health by the DEADLINE 6.12.21 ( Monday).
There are already a significant number of well reasoned objections.
Once passed, this venue will be with us PERMANENTLY and over time there is the risk it will get bigger and louder.
Google Earth gives a striking bird's eye view of just how close this is to the village.
Please also bear in mind for the future: the original plan was to have things on a much larger scale and the music in a marquee outside. Only a handful of us received formal notice of the plans.
Whilst the Adderley lights have only been there for 3 years. Flooding under the bridge at Cox bank ,must have flooded for at least 7 years plus. Are Shropshire and Cheshire
