Chris and I ate there recently and Thoroughly Enjoyed the meal. We shared 6 dishes plus a shared desert which was plenty! As you say – lovely friendly staff and Laura is very knowledgeable about her wines! Agree as regards the scotch egg – didn't have the pate that time – but very tasty and innovative dishes. Another good reason to stay in Audlem!!
We'll definitely be going back very soon!
Thanks for the warning John. They must have been pretty convincing for you to have listened that far. They picked the wrong person that time!
Thanks, John, for pointing out this 'BT' scammer. Like, you, I'm intrigued as to how they could make any money from this. I guess, who knows what line they would take if they had someone on the other end who was not tech-savvy.
Forewarned, always good.

Looking for somewhere different to enjoy lunch or dinner? Linden Stores is a very welcome addition to the village. Their menu is innovative – try the Scotch Egg with black pudding or the fabulous liver pate. An excellent wine list and last but not least friendly and efficient staff. Well worth a visit.
Be aware reported it to police yesterday, a tall dark hair man came said he was from Scottish power, pulled his id out of his pocket quick , never had chance to look pushed it back in, we bombarded him with to many questions of plain clothes no works vehicle, he walked off with his phone in the air, until my mother shouted him back and threw another load of questions at him, he then had the cheek to ask which line does our power come through, I checked his car and rang police, it is not on their system the car so be aware
It will be three years this January and I have a celebration already planned. Watch this space.
There used to be people who did 'invisible mending'. Is there anyone in the Audlem area who does this?
Yeah, yeah! .... No jokes please about their being hard to find!!
Only 2 years Nick Smith? I wouldn't be at all surprised if its actually 3 years, feels like it anyway.
A HUGE THANK YOU to the ADAS members and volunteers who have put the tree back where it belongs and lighting up the centre of the village again. Conditions weren't ideal to work in but they ploughed on and erected the tree once again. Thank you to all involved. The Grinch didn't steal out Christmas!
I have used Melody in Wistaston to alter prom dress and shorten trousers – very reasonable and quick turn around

Did anyone celebrate the "Adderley Lights" second anniversary? I forgot, but will do so tonight with a large drink.
Have my daughter home – with a typical last minute christmas dress crisis. You can also call me on 07909 522287
thank you – you would be saving my life if you can recommend someone.
I was surprised to see the trunk had snapped off-must have been quite a gust that did that. So sad for all those who worked so hard on it. The weather was not kind to us for the switch on evening but did seem to pack the hall for the ADCA craft fair. Hope all the stall holders had a good day!
So sad to see the beautiful Christmas tree in the village has fallen down in the storm last night.
Hopefully it didn't damage anything else.
We are very lucky to have good volunteers to put it back up.
As of 7.30 this morning Monks lane blocked Audlem end with a trampoline and Hankelow end with a tree.
Just to second all the positive comments about our medical practise. We are fortunate indeed to have such an accessible service on our doorstep. Especially so, when you hear or read of the problems that friends and family further afield, are or have experienced with local medical provision in their own districts. Additionally, the nursing and medical care that Leighton Hospital have provided for an ongoing problem in our own family has been been faultless.
The NHS has never been perfect, but in my opinion, it is a damn sight better than the alternative option that Nigel Farage has been pedalling, privatization.
Yes Kay I agree the users of the charging points will be paying for the use of them but I was referring to the cost of the installation of the points. The installation cost should be met by the people who want to have a point in the village for public use not by every local resident.
Many residents do not even have a car, others that do have cars at present, many have no intention of changing to an electric one by personal choice, I include myself in that group. Those that are changing are having to provide and pay for their own charging facilities.
Electric vehicles, like building houses has become typical of the old saying of 'Putting the cart before the horse' – ie not having the infrastructure plan prepared first. Vehicles it is charging points, housing it is roads, schools and medical services.
Has anybody any thoughts or got any views on the effect of electric vehicles may have on present smaller vehicle service garages ? Will we be losing them in time because of it ?
I believe the suggestion for electric charging points located somewhere in Audlem, was more to do with attracting tourists to the village for the benefit of local business. (Also with the possibility that the electricity is paid for by the user.)
I agree that locals with electric vehicles are unlikely to use as they are more likely to have a charging point installed at home. However I daresay that Audlem may well miss the opportunity for this, as charging points spring up elsewhere, and thus they will become the stopping point destinations for electric vehicle owners.
Best check with Elf and Safety reference Santa's jabs. "😉
May I draw residents' attention to new revised plans for the wedding venue at The Parkes, Monks, Lane (see 'Revised Plans' up loaded on 22nd November 2021 – search Cheshire East Planning Portal – application reference 21/3505N). Some comments have already been made by concerned members of the public. Any comments are to be made by 6 December 2021. Issues regarding noise can also be e mailed to: EnvironmentalProtection2@cheshireeast.gov.uk. I hope this assists – I suspect the majority of village residents who may still be adversely affected will not have received notification of these new plans.
Can anyone recommend someone to help with our ironing please?
Approximately one laundry basket every two weeks.
