Jennie Walker on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

18th July 2021 @ 2:29pm

Hello Audlem
I know this title sounds like and old 60's movie but read on....
My husband and I are new residents to this wonderful village, everyone we meet is friendly, helpful and proud of this place.
But, does anyone else who lives near the church think the strimming, cutting of trees or using other large machinery noise a little annoying especially at 9pm Saturday evening and 2pm Sunday afternoon.
The few days we have to open our windows, sit in our gardens and enjoy the peace of this place is suddenly disrupted by on going noise.
I believe we all have 'jobs' to do but a little thought for others would go a long way, just for a few lovely weekends.

Thanks to George Hardy . A brilliantly interesting contribution.

Getting a "nip" on the ankle by an out of control dog, Martyn Measures, is no fun. I'll show you my scars to prove it. If you don't control your dog you will find that your post is no longer delivered to your home. You'll have to go and collect it from the sorting office.

Good morning, Would it be possible to have an Art exhibition of works created by local residents, at any accessible venue in the village ? I'm sure it would provide both interest and be a platform to share creative work amongst locals and visitors alike.

Not a bad idea Martyn! However; I see a slight flaw in your plan. The 'speed' I travel through the Village is pretty much the speed I travel anywhere (unless of course, I'm on a Motorway..then I'll probably get up to around 43mph with a prevailing wind; if I'd not eaten any sprouts or cabbage that day; 39mph) So, if anyone was stuck behind me they'd probably be behind me for a very long time until they could safely (or otherwise) overtake, thus making them far more angry (ask me how I know) than they would be if they weren't thus contributing to more angryness about it all for this. Or something...

Hi Mike
Thanks for your suggestion. We have been into Ripples at Bridgemere but they said they did not arrange transport or holding of any fish. They were not aware of anyone that did provide this type of service. Having googled there seem to be companies in the south of England who do it – maybe a gap in the market here for some entrepreneur as I am sure lots of people who have ponds and mice house have this problem. Kind regards Lynn Turner

The secret is to keep traffic speeds down I.e let Billy cruise back and too through the village .

Dear Lynne,

You could try Ripples at Bridgemere Garden Centre to capture and look after your fish.

Hi, I'm not sure if anybody would please be able to help or advise but we are soon going to encounter a problem with some fish. My son. who lives in Nantwich, has inherited some fish including two large koi carp. Although a suitable pond is being constructed there is a strong chance that the fish will need to be moved before it is finished as their current pond has developed a very serious leak. I am looking for someone who could transport and, ideally, store the fish for around a month. We are prepared to pay for this service but cannot find anyone in this region that does this. Any help, or suggestions, would be appreciated. Thank you Lynn Turner

PETER Marshall on Audlem Youth Funds

15th July 2021 @ 7:01pm

Sonia. it is great that you are interested in the possibility of a youth project and your ideas are positive.
I feel I should make the point that it is money that is available. What is now needed is not only ideas and suggestions (which are fantastic) but also new people to take over and facilitate . Maybe someone new could take over and get things going.

I was interested to read the article just now about funds for skate park/youth club etc. It would be brilliant to get something up and running again for the young people in our community. I happen to be a governor at the primary school, and naturally we have close links to Brine Leas. I would like to suggest that perhaps you run a brief consultation with the young people in our village. I'm sure school would be happy to help you organise or promote this. Or alternatively, perhaps have a couple of 'open sessions' on the fields outside the public hall on a sunny day. Lots of young people come to use the fields and play ground during the course of the weekend. You would get parents too I'm sure, but really the best people to ask are the young people themselves. I'm afraid I didn't see a name on the article otherwise I would have tried to contact you directly. These are just some thoughts.

Bruce Mantle on stove service

13th July 2021 @ 10:19am

Jan Campbell,
If you just need someone to clean your flue/chimney and ensure the stove is operating safely then I can recommend Peter Buckley (01630 658947 & www.peterbuckleychimneysweep.com/our-services).
He's serviced our multifuel inc wood-burning stove in recent years and we've found him efficient, tidy, reasonable in his charges and a pleasant man to deal with.

Michael Cookson on Carpenter

12th July 2021 @ 1:41pm

We can recommend Lee Welch. He has done several carpentry jobs for us, windows, doors, shelving and a bespoke radiator cover. He is a very nice young man, a little shy.
His phone no is 07881 284641

Billy Gibbons on Main Street Parking

12th July 2021 @ 1:16pm

As I've said before; double yellow lines means precisely nothing to a lot of our (non disabled) local drivers. However; a fine and a drivers education course might hit home a bit harder. A few points on their licence thrown in for good measure may also make them think. But....it's not going to happen, is it.

David on Main Street Parking

Hi/

Unfortunately this old one rears its ugly head once again.,
We do know we need vehicular access for emergency vehicles at any time.
Other than that parking such as this is selfish dangerous and it is also against the Law of the Land
Reg number deleted this time it may not be again.

there is no way of getting this image to you

Audlem Running Group on Audlem Running Club

9th July 2021 @ 11:15am

Hi Jude,

Thanks for your interest in the running group.

We'd love to have you come along and join us. We meet every Saturday at 8:20 ish on the main village car park, for an 8:30 start.

We tend to run between 5 and 6 miles with a nice mixture of paces, and the people at the front will double back to make sure no one is left behind.

There is a group going out on Saturday the 10th who would happily welcome you along.
