A follow up to Peter Morgans piece on chatbox. A big thanks to the Parkers for providing employment and a good pay packet to so many local people for so many years . I would say unsung heros to this community. There are lot of people who are thinking about all of you during these difficult times
Personally, I would rather have seen all the submissions and made my own mind up as to what was "acceptable".
There have been 3 way traffic lights at Swanbach since Monday, covering a 25 yard stretch of road – but no signs of any activity in the road or at the damaged cottage all week. What's happening?
Plus, tonight I think the sequencing may have gone as cars coming through on green from opposite direction.
Cat missing since Monday 28th March from 7 Hayfields Grove Audlem. British short hair, lilac/cream in colour with blue eyes, micro-chipped and answers to Indy. Please could you check your gardens and sheds and contact 07706 821331 if spotted. Thank you
100% in agreement John, there is proper humour and 'there's not so proper humour'. Hopefully next year will bring a bumper crop again.
I think poor Avril was indisposed this year, Covid and PC topics made her tired and serious.
One thing was cheering to her....our former MP shared useful information to those in need of help with energy bills. I am in need of energy mainly. Thank you Antoinette Sandbach, restored a bit of faith in the system.
We do apologise for the lack of "sense of humour" articles. The couple that we were contemplating had overtones of, lets say, "internecine warfare" which we eventually felt was inappropriate at this time.
The bull could be doubtful but having seen them in such places it may well actually be true.
Where has all the humour gone ? Congratulations to the lonely Paddock Lane reporter for spotting what is usually a day full of endless 'funnies' on Audlem on Line.
Has Avril Fouliere left the village not heard from her lately?
`With energy costs increasing by 54% I thought it would be useful to post about where you can get help if you are struggling to pay your bills, please seek help early. National Energy Action has a help line open between 10 am and 12pm 0800 304 7159
Other agencies can also help and you can find them by clicking on this link https://www.nea.org.uk/wash-advice/additional-help/

Just had my greenhouse built by Martin. Thanks for the recommendation Kevin. Martin did a great job, was through and at a reasonable price.
Nearly 4 years ago, I chose to vote for the installation of a carpark on Turnpike field.
This is not a complaint and I am not a keyboard warrior.
I took the time to attend the 1st APC surgery last week to ask a question that I have previously asked directly to the APC team and Chairman.
My question, 'In preparation for Turnpike field public meeting, can you please provide through AoL a summary project plan'? And, 'What exactly are your proposals'?
As a Parish Council rate payer who is unfortunately also unable to attend Weds nights meeting could James kindly advise how I can be kept advised of the options & given the opportunity to vote.
Last time this issue came up we had the opportunity to vote I think it was on line, but a postal vote would also be fine.
As a long term resident I would like a vote. Unable to attend, can I ask for a Proxy vote?
There will be many people who cannot attend the meeting – Are these people going to be provided with all the details and will they be getting the opportunity to vote prior to any go ahead as these people also pay rates to the parish. Also as Lynn asked 'are non residents outside the Parish boundaries going to be allowed to vote.
I have asked this question previously but no answer has been forth coming. If the parish council ask questions in chatbox they should be prepared to give some answers in chatbox not keep it within 4 walls of a meeting, knowing full well that majority of people are going to be unable to attend.
This month sees the dispersal of the long-established Parker family agricultural contracting business on Sandy Lane. Established three generations ago, it must represent nearly a century of trading with judicious management resulting in steady growth over the decades. Sadly, health issues have brought the great majority of the business to a close and the skilled workforce dispersed. In peak harvest I have heard them returning to the yard on hot summer nights at well after two am and later.
I'm sure there will be some who rejoice at the reduction in large machinery passing through the village centre, but whilst plates are full, some minds are empty. Let us hope the situation is not reversed betwixt climate change and the politics of chaos.
Best wishes to all the family in these trying times.
To vote tomorrow night on the go ahead for the Turnpike Car Park do people have to provide proof of residence within the Audlem Parish and how can people vote if they are not able to attend the meeting?
thank you Adrian, your not the first to point out my spelling mistake in regards to the red kite and no I won't be eating one even if I could catch one ! ..i will check my spelling next time I visit chat box ha ha
I just wanted to share with you my experience of lunch today at Linden Stores in the village as it was exceptional ! I went with my son, his girlfriend and my niece. We ordered quite a few dishes to share.
Every dish was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. Charlotte looked after us so well and was delightful.
How lucky we are to have such a culinary delight in our village.
Hope to return very soon 🥳
There is a Facebook group set up to support Ukrainians in Cheshire which may be helpful to those locally willing to assist them~Ukrainian Support Cheshire East.
Or maybe even "breeding" Elaine. Unless, of course, you're preparing one for your dinner – although there's probably not a lot of meat there.
Kites have been see occasionally for some years now. I've seen them over Longhill Lane and Heywoods Land occasionally. They're slowly coming eastwards from the colonies that were established in Wales I believe.
If you could drop us some leaflets off at the cricket club they could be displayed in a prominent place. The vast majority of our opponents on both Saturday and Sundays are local teams and usually bring a decent amount of support with them. We always try to promote the local businesses by sending our guests to sample the hospitality and produce of the village.
If anyone else would like to advertise their wares just get in touch and we will gladly oblige.
