Both our televisions have fractured pictures. I presume the problem is the ariel. Can anyone recommend a TV or Ariel repairer in or near Audlem?
No sightings on Saturday as of 18.00. I'm sure more people to help search would be appreciated. A group is supposed to be coming to search with drones too.
Thank you for overwhelming support in search for our Dachshund puppy . she is still missing please please can you check your gardens and outbuildings ask your neighbours aswell. we believe she is hiding.she was last sighted leaving the yard on corner of wood orchard lane onto bagley lane and headed over canal bridge on friday afternoon. Towards cox bank or main road .she is petrified please call owners if spotted don't chase her as she most likely will run.
Any news this morning as we are happy to help with the search?
5;50. Friday night. I'm travelling from the direction of the Canal Bridge going towards the Woore direction. He's waiting at the Square having come from the direction of Nantwich. I get about 5 yards from him and he decides to pull out in front of me! (Not the first time this has happened here but it is the lastest) I jammed my brakes on and he proceeds in the direction of the Canal Bridge shaking his head at ME!!!!! I was in a bright green 1953 Vauxhall Wyvern; what a good job I wasn't in an old car with dodgy brakes. My question is, if he's reading this, what were you thinking? What, if anything, was on your mind? I know you were cursing me as you went past for me having the audacity to want to go in the direction of Woore but, why pull out when you clearly saw me? Just wondering out of curiosity. No hard feelings and all that but, at the time, you couldn't have been cursing me as much as I was cursing you.......
Hello. Is there news about the return of the puppy? So sorry to hear this. Want to know If I can help if not.
Today's post arrived 16.30.
Ant's post used to arrive 10.30.
Privatisation means better customer service, don't make me laugh.
I was thinking the same thing Suzie but hopefully it was 'chased' as in; trying to get the puppy back to the owner perhaps? I really hope so.....
Please tell me that the missing pup story contains a typo – where it says '..and chased by a cyclist..'
Typo, surely.
If not a typo and the poor wee darling was *actually* chased by a cyclist – I do hope there is footage to provide to the police.

Hi, I'm enquiring to see if anyone knows who owns the lakes situated near moss hall? I would be very interested in fishing it. It's probably not the right place, but I thought I'd ask.
Kind regards
Jon
I spent a couple of weeks in the summer staying around the North Yorkshire Moors and it was interesting to note that most of the towns we visited had 2 hours or so of "free" parking in the town centres (Richmond/Thirsk etc) and seem to be thriving. Car parking fees seem to deter visitors especially when councils allow developments close to the town centre which offer free and convenient car parking (witness Crewe Grand Junction or Hanley Wolstanton retail park). I cannot see any advantage to the council as one of your previous post suggests – its too small to generate income given the overheads and maintenance involved.
Isn't it lovely when people who don't live in the parish and therefore don't pay the parish precept – already one of the highest in the county – tell those of us that do that we should pay more for the privilege of them parking for free here? But that seems to be a bit of a theme – I recall some of those pushing heavily for the adoption of the playing field and car park a few years back also didn't live in the parish itself. I'm pretty sure that those who worked on the proposal and came up with the figure quoted did it properly and were not reliant on some pub bar bore estimate – there's a lot more to these things than the man in the street realises – not the least of which would be public liability insurance.
Actually a small charge after say two hours free (as operated in some car parks) would have the beneficial effect of stopping some of the abusers of the car park who seem to be permanently parked there and thus freeing up spaces for those of us that need it.
Aintree race track also used by vets doctors and ambulances to follow and care for casualties during horse race meetings at Aintree including The Grand National. I looked after Beechers Brook to Canal Turn. Fence fallers for almost 20 years

Why is our tap water milky?
£17,000 maintenance charges seems high. I would love to know where that figure came from given that Cheshire East hasn't spent a penny on the car park in recent years. Surely not for cutting the playing field grass for Ralph's footy team?
Even if the figure quoted was correct a fiver on the annual precept would easily cover this. That's less than 10p per week. Hardly bank busting figures. The PC decision at the time has proved to be short sighted, particularly given the growth of Audlem and its surrounding communities over the last few years.
My Mother who lives in Audlem would like recommendations for a local cleaner. I would appreciate any advice. Many thanks in advance.
Billy I am sorry to say you are not 'the one and only', most of Audlem were honoured- there was nothing wrong with the water. It was simply air bubbles which cleared in a matter of seconds, much quicker in fact than even your 'rocket'
Update; Things are back to normal (if you could call anything in this house 'normal') After a while the 'milk' colour turned to..er...water colour. It still came out of the tap milk colour for about 48 hours but now it doesn't. Did anyone else's water down Green Lane or anywhere else do that or am I privileged in this respect?

To those worried about car parking charges in the village, I highly suspect some of you may be unfamiliar with the real logistical problems Cheshire East would have introducing these. Firstly, a new Traffic Regulation Order is required to amend the off street parking legislation currently in force in Audlem, this comes at a cost. Then, machines and equipment are required, along with data and power connections. You then need contractors to come and empty the machines, service them. The signage all needs changing and road markings enhanced. Quite simply, I would be astounded if the authority deems any of that worthwhile in Audlem, as the costs are likely to exceed receipts, along with the increased risk of theft from the equipment. They then, of course, have to enforce this too, which is currently only done approximately monthly when an enforcement officer drives to the village from Crewe.
The second issue is the levy being proposed to contribute to the Highways budget. Legally, Cheshire East have no legs to stand on to expect the Parish to contribute anything. There is a statutory obligation on Cheshire East, and not the parish council, under the Highways Act 1980 to maintain the roads, pavements and other rights of way, and keep them "in order". Budget, or the lack of one, is not a defence for the authority, and a court will eventually order compliance. There is simply no need for Audlem residents to pay Cheshire East any more than we already do. The Parish Council should enforce our rights under Section 56 Highways Act, rather than handing over money.
