We are looking for a friend for our cat and dog who can look after them while we are away from time to time. Our cocker spaniel is 11 years old and still buzzy and our black cat is the same age (not so buzzy but loves cuddles!). We are really looking for someone or a couple who are flexible and who love animals, who are available for a day now and again and also for a week or two when we go on holiday. We live in the Audlem area and we are happy for you to stay and look after the house while we are on holiday. Remuneration can be discussed.
I have to do an increasing number of repairs on cars for family, friends, and neighbours, but sometimes I need access to a hydraulic press to remove (usually) wheel bearings. I just wondered if there was anyone locally who has one, and wouldn't mind me nipping round and using it for 20 mins or so once in a while?
Thanks Bob, he is now booked for March
All sorted now, many thanks Julie

I have a lovely gentleman who I visit aged 94. He has recently had to give up driving and looking for some form of independence.
If anyone has a reasonably priced scooter available, please contact me. Thank you Julie 07467 587456
Hi, can anyone recommend a carpet/upholstery cleaner please?
I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the lovely people in the village who showed such kindness when my dog Jasper was fatally hit by a car in the village on Wednesday 14th Jan. People looked after me and my dog when I was obviously very distressed and didn’t know what to do. The kindness of people never ceases to amaze me. Thank you x
I agree the new reporting method is tricky. I couldn't find how to put the place of the pothole in with a 'dropped pin'
But there is another way, offered on the opening page for contacting CE – a phone number. It might take a while to be answered, and then passed to 'Highways', but the person answering this was very helpful. By giving more details, and being able to explain more fully, prevented misunderstandings.
I was also able to report a street light not working and a few other problems. Time will tell when they get repaired, but at least they have been logged.
We suggest trying https://causes.coop.co.uk/to find
local causes , ADCA is near the top of the list after login with your Coop membership credentials. Hope that helps
Like you Karen I hadn't realised that the clothes bank had gone from Audlem. I have no idea when or if it will re-appear.
However there is a Salvation Army clothes bank in Whitchurch near Tesco's.
It isn't in the car park immediately adjacent to the store but is in the extra car park just across the road leading to the baths.
At least an alternative hopefully in the short term.
Geoff
Does anyone know how to post on Audlem Life? I've tried 3 times to no avail re there being spaces at Audlem Brownies but it's a no-go.. I don't know who edits it but I've had no communication.
Does anyone know if we're having a clothes bank returning to the carpark please?
FYI – be careful near the road that goes from Shropshire Street down to the Shroppie Fly. A car has shed its oil to a point where the potholes are filled up, this is then being dragged out onto the main public highway.
Highways have been informed.
Note to Phillip Baker (ADCA) – I would be very happy to cast a vote for ADCA for all the good work you do but I emailed you using the link in your article on AOL and it bounced. Is there a typo in that link? I was asking how to vote for ADCA. Do you have to go into the Co-op to do it?

The roads in and around Audlem are in a shocking state and they’re getting worse not better.
The council will not do anything unless we report the issues.
So, EVERY road defect needs to be reported.
Cheshire East recently changed the tool used to report potholes. You now need to use:
https://trace.cheshireeast.gov.uk/
I may be cynical, but this site is more cumbersome to use than the older method.
Plus issues reported under the old system have not been moved across. So, currently it appears there are few issues.
I have no idea how this is progress, but it's Cheshire East we're talking about!
PLEASE REPORT EVERY DEFECT.
I've just spoken to a man from the Highways Dept. He said Broadways will have all the drains jetted on 29th January and the road will be closed for the day.
So they're going to tart it up and wreck it by putting 2 large TV's in it. Does this mean the existing management will be leaving?
How many times do we need to keep putting our black bins out in the Hope they will eventually be collected?
The village has bins all over the place. I gave up then decided to try once more this morning…
I can recommend a carpet fitter named Martin. He was prompt, efficient and did a really good job. Contact number 07778 550469.
Hi everyone. Bit of a long shot but is there anyone out there who is familiar with the Substack blog site? I’m trying to set up and send my first blog but I’m having difficulty in learning how to do it. Tried YouTube and am no wiser. Would appreciate a hands-on demonstration if possible. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Can anyone recommend a carpet fitter in the area?
