Judy, thank you for your moving and heartfelt tribute to George who was a remarkable man by any standards. A village cornerstone. Just an aside to illustrate his mathematical genius, I was insuring his shop in the late 70s early 80s through the Avon Insurance Agency and underwriters required a premises survey. The surveyor reported back that not only was the ice cream excellent, but in the back rooms, the walls were covered by differential calculus equations, floor to ceiling. George informed him that it was his hobby. He was trying to solve Fermat’s Last Theorem (1637) which was finally solved in 1994 by Andrew Wiles after 357 years, so not just a fabulous ice cream maker but an icon of a lost age.

My wonderful friend Jenny Frank and I would love to thank all the Staff at Corsbrook Care Home for making us feel so welcomed on Saturday 11th July 2026 at their "happy fun day' for the residents of the care home. Lovely live music and plenty to eat & drink to keep cool on such a hot day. We both had a craft table each and everyone was very pleased what we had to offer. Looking forward to the next one. Well done all the staff for your caring and assistance.

the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers issues this notice temporarily to prohibit traffic
in the following length of road:
Longhill Lane, Audlem Ward, Audlem, CW3 0BX from the junction of Woore Road to the junction of Bunsley Bank
The alternative route will be via the following streets: – Woore Road, Audlem Road, Nantwich Road, London Road,

Pedestrian / cyclist access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times.
Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible

Beauty and the beast is suitable for children, there are scenes with wolves which the kids might find frightening but they are clearly two young girls with masks on. And there is also the romance between Belle and the beast but of course, also age appropriate

There is currently maintenance on going for next few days which could effect reception
They will notify me when it’s completed.
They suggest when at home connect phone via home WiFi to make and receive calls etc.
They apologise for any inconvenience.
