Joy Hargreaves on Audlem parking

23rd February 2026 @ 10:39am

Stephanie, I liked your solutions to Audlem parking but you failed to mention a great idea which would occupy the fit and healthy retired people of Audlem. To solve the big tractor problem through the village, perhaps the said retired people could muster up their trusty wheelbarrows and offer to transport the goods, ie. milk, grain, fruits and veg from the fields to the factories along the roads and towpaths. Forgive me, but how fit they would be and high cholesterol would be a thing of the past!

Dave Martin on Taxi from Audlem

22nd February 2026 @ 7:35pm

As there appears to be no resident taxi firm in Audlem, it depends where you’re going:
Nantwich, Crewe, airports : A Star, Express
Crewe Station: Uber
Whitchurch, Market Drayton, search for local firms online

Jane maxwell on Dog poo

22nd February 2026 @ 2:16pm

Will the grey haired gent who has just walked down Mill Lane, Swanbach at 2.15 this afternoon, please bring a poo bag with him or alternatively, as he was aware that I saw him, come to the door and ask if I have a bag. It was deposited just to the left of our gate. Disgusting and disrespectful.

J. Dean on Heat pump

15th February 2026 @ 4:17pm

What do you mean by refilling?

As in you are losing pressure?

Where is the water going? Is it being ejected out of the pressure release valve?

You may have a leak if not. But if so, check your pressure using a car/bike tyre pressure gauge on the expansion vessel. If that’s gone, it may need pumping up or replacing. The expansion vessel gives the water room to move when it’s heating up and if that’s not got pressure in it then the water will escape down the pressure release valve.

Peter Morgan on Ralph

14th February 2026 @ 10:46pm

A wonderful tribute from Nicky Dakin on Ralph. He was a truly exceptional individual and his extraordinary contributions to Audlem and district will leave a lasting mark on our community, for there was no stone that he didn't turn over and polish. A remarkable man.

Hi, my father is coming to visit for a few days next week. He is 91 and has difficulty with mobility. I would love to take him for a walk with the dogs down Monks Lane or into the village. Does anyone know where I might be able to hire an electric mobility scooter or does anyone have an electric mobility scooter that they won’t be using for 2 days at the end of next week please? I’d be very grateful for any help! Thank you.

Mr Stephen Conroy on Film shown in Audlem scouthut

12th February 2026 @ 8:10pm

Good evening,

I'm hoping you can help me.

I have been advised that there was a film shown in the Audlem Scout hut that had been restored after being found in the attic of Jean Bonell, 'Shentone', Buerton.

My mother-in-law is a Bonell and some of her relations, including her brother, Norman, featured in the film.

We would love to obtain of copy for her which we could include in the celebration of her 91st birthday.

With best regards,

Stephen Conroy

Michelle Taylor on pot holes

11th February 2026 @ 7:01pm

just hit a pot hole on my way home from work 4 miles outside of Audlem. i now have a burst tyre which means i will be late in to work tomorrow. I have no idea where our road tax is going but it certainly is not on the roads!!! The council need to start sorting our local roads out as they are a disgrace. My brother-in-law hit a pot hole on his way to my house in exactly the same spot and got a burst tyre. all my family comment on how bad the roads are in and around the Audlem area and I see nothing being done to fix them. sort it out Cheshire East Council!!
