Re Letter.

The more I think about recieving a threatening letter accusing me of doing something I obviously didn't do, the more it's playing on my mind and that's really something I could do without especially at this point in my life.
When you do find out who the person is on the motorcycle and who made the phone call to you, I think an apology from you to me might be the proper thing to do. You can do it under the cover of darkness like you did with the first letter if you wish.
By the way; the last thing I wanted to do was to post something like this on Audlem Online but, because you didn't have the decency to face me or to include your contact details in your letter, I feel I don't have any other choice.

Please restore a bit of faith and do the right thing.

P.P.S. After going though my documents the exact date I last owned and rode a motorcycle was Saturday April the 3rd, 1993 at approximately 11;30 am. It was a black Yamaha XS650 with cowhorn handlebars and a single saddle and 6" over front forks and a person from Wrenbury came and bought it off me at around 12 mid-day. Later that afternoon the Grand National was aborted.....and no, that wasn't my fault either in case your wondering........

Re the flags in the village, perhaps it might be an idea to alternate the Union flag with the flag of St George, after all Audlem is in England, just.
Maybe some bunting could be put up too, Wybunbury looked particularly good this year with their decorative efforts

Due to the current abuse of flags and the unfortunate connotation – is it time we review what we fly in our lovely village?

Could who ever keeps letting their dog foul along Churchfields on a very regular basis be more considerate to the neighbours and kindly pic up their dogs poo!!!

It's not much to ask – take a poo bag with you pick it up !!

Thank you to Terry for suggesting Rufus. I went my own way from there but I expect most people will need his help. It was not an easy journey with my old machine and you do need to know what you are doing. ChatGPT was very useful. Win 11 is excellent on it, not sluggish at all. I have Linux on another machine but I find you need a bit of computer know-how to keep things running smoothly. The Charity suggestion seems a very good idea. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new machine.

We will be re- starting Praise and Play this week after the Summer break.
We meet in St James Church each Thursday morning 9:30- 10:30 am. This is a friendly meeting place for pre-school children with their parent or carer, we provide some activities, songs and a story. There is time for a drink and biscuit and more importantly opportunity to chat to others and make new friendships. Some children are too young to actively participate but often they enjoy seeing other children and all are welcome.
We do not charge for these sessions but there is always a plate out for anyone wishing to contribute.

I would like to thank the Villager who called me about the whereabouts of the board. It had been thrown into the nettles 20' from the entrance, broken but repaired and used for the recent funeral parking.

They witnessed the incident from a distance, but good enough description of the culprit.

I'm not clear what the problem here is. I used the same technique to update my laptop. It flies now and I've saved a few hundred quid on buying a new laptop. It's certainly not more sluggish – quite the opposite. Looks like other people are pleased with the outcome too and a charity is benefiting. What's not to like?

Terry, I don't think I suggested consigning any hardware to landfill. What I did suggest was a newer machine will have upgraded spec, and, if a laptop, better batteries by now than when Win 10 was released, and you're future proofing your setup. Most people nowadays's tend to use laptops or tablets, the days of towers are really consigned to gamers. Linux is different, but once used a few times is a doddle with ample free software including Office packages. Performance measuring, I'm not going there, this depends on a lot of variables.
Having spent over 30 years in a Data Centre, I'll pass on the demonstration, thanks anyway.

A week ago, (last Saturday) I took this small white folding table to put my produce on at the ADAPT market stall but somehow forgot to load it onto my wheelbarrow when I went home.

This morning, (Saturday), when I wanted it for today's stall, I realised it was missing!
Asking at the Lord Combermere pub today, they said they had seen it, but thought someone had come back to collect it.
So, if anyone had rescued it, please let me know, as I'd be very pleased to have it back!

Nothing to do with the weather but I have just heard of someone who's blouse caught fire and they suffered nasty burns. This used to happen a lot and I am sure nightdresses have to be fire retardant but I don't know about other clothing and I think I read that a child's princess type dress caught fire. Anyone know the regulations and what we should beware of? I think hair sprays and gels can also be a risk.

Windows 11
"Repair rather than replace" is a headline in the recent edition of Which magazine , reminding us all of the importance of not throwing yet more stuff into landfill.
Thanks to Terry Aston our ageing HP laptop computer is now Windows 11 compatible and much faster than it's been for years. Thanks to a new solid state hard drive and the binning of many files I had forgotten I had.
So I am much relieved I don't have to buy a new machine.

Front page of todays Shropshire Star carried an article about the severe drought and the number of fires that had to be dealt with by the hard pressed fire brigades, the great majority of which were caused by the thoughtless use of barbecues and garden bonfires. The environment is so dry that drifting sparks can set alight grass and shrubs some distance away from the initial source. Please be careful.

Hello, I'm moving to Audlem shortly and wondered which broadband provider is best for this area. We tend to stream a lot of tv so it would be great to get a provider that can deliver good download speeds.

All good in theory, but the fact is W10 has been around for some time, and most of the equipment it is installed on is just as old. Installing W11 onto these older machines will just feel sluggish and you'll have a bad experience. Far better to install a version of Linux. Zorin is free to use and is the closest to windows as you can get.
But, if you're a windows fan then I would purchase a PC that has W11 pre-installed, or better still get a Mac.
