Thank you to the people walking their dogs in Turnpike Field and neighbours for all your help following my fall on Sunday morning resulting in a fractured shoulder. Wonderful to live in such a supportive community.
I just wanted to share the recent experience we have had with Jim and Jake, to local plumbers. They did an excellent job in bringing an old central heating system back to life. They came in under quote / time and the work was of a very high quality. Property was left tidy at the end of each day, and they turned up on time every day, starting on the actual date agreed. If you need a good plumber, especially if you have an issue which need thinking about carefully, I'd recommend calling them. Jim 07890365301. Thanks.
Spot on as usual, Stephanie!
Congratulations to Audlem Cricket Club 1st XI on becoming champions of Division 4 in the North Staffs and South Cheshire Cricket League, their third consecutive promotion.
This morning at 07:00 a couple were walking two brown dogs towards the village and stoped outside my gate. The man said to the woman ‘just leave it there’!
So she left a neatly wrapped up full bag on the road by the gate.
Why?
There is a bin 100 yards along the lane which was the direction they were walking.
If they would like to contact me then that would be welcome but they wouldn’t have the backbone.
Screen shots are available.
Slovenly and bone idle springs to mind.
Are there any reliable driving instructors who cover the Audlem/Nantwich area? I'm trying to get my son on a waiting list so that he can begin his lessons as soon as he turns 17 after Christmas. I've rung half a dozen with zero response. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions.
Yippee, life is returned to normal, sudoku is back. Thank you to all concerned
We've just used Eddie – 07740 759250 – very efficient and did a good job
Are you or know of a family member/friend in need of some home help and companionship within the local area? It could be shopping, attending appointments, visiting local places, light domestic duties, preparation of meals and very importantly time for a chat and cuppa.
I'm currently a companion/home help for a local lady. Due to a change in circumstance's my hours will be reduced from the beginning of October. I am an honest, cheerful and compasionate lady with lots of life experiences to share. I can provide character and employee references.
I look forward to hearing from you to discuss in further detail.

Like Nigel Mottershead, I would also recommend Martin Williams at Haycocks.
Hi John,
Have a look on Ebay – there seems to be quite a lot of Image Writer stuff on there.
Good luck.
I'd recommend Nick Smith from Nantwich. A very reliable and honest Chimney Sweep. However...I've lost his number. If I find it sooner rather than later, I'll post it.
I can recommend Haycocks Chimney Sweeps – Martin Williams.
Great family company.

Does anyone (else) still use an Apple ImageWriter II and might have a spare computer cartridge? Could purchase or replace.
Is anyone missing a dog? We've found a dog running down our street, a bit stressed by the storm. We have him in our house, safe and sound. Please message me if you think it may be your dog. Cheers, Les

Please note that the Permissive Footpath, from the A529 Market Drayton Road to the Canal Bridge at Swanbach, is closed for up to two days; 3 September and 4 September 2025; this to ensure the safety of both operatives and walkers as the maize crop is harvested.
