This week – the police

This week at Youth Club we had a visit arranged from our local Policeman, PCSO Nick Jarvis, and to our surprise he arrived in Force, quite literally, with two of his colleagues Steph and Sarah. Now this turned out to be really good because Steph, being a fully fledged PC, had a belt full of interesting goodies such as pepper spray, retractable truncheon, handcuffs and a big piece of velcro (for the legs of villains and the wrists of small boys apparently).

Luke and Elliot volunteered to demo the handcuffs (I think they just looked shifty actually) and everyone got to hand around the deceptively heavy stab vest- regulation wear for the Audlem beat.

Many questions were asked and expertly answered and we heard tales of suspicious men in white vans. Jay helpfully ventured that his father also drove a white van but it was generally felt that having 'Audlem Dry Cleaners' on the side of it probably hindered any possible criminal activity.

We managed at least 40 minutes of rapt attention, which is testament to how great our guests were, before they departed with a round of applause into the night.

And Christmas cards

Beavering away in the corner for the remainder of the evening, a small and stalwart group were creating magnificent Christmas cards. Scarlett almost managed to sort out her entire Christmas card list, such was her dedication.

Next week – the Party

Well, here we are arriving at the final Youth Club session of 2015.

Next week is Christmas Party time (16th Dec, 7pm- 9pm at the Baptist Chapel) and it promises to be a blow out finale at the end of a roller coaster first six months. Wear your tinsel, silly hats and Christmas Jumpers and come prepared to eat your body weight in sausage rolls and chocolate.

If you haven't tried us out yet, next week would be a great time to start – we'll all be in a really good mood and there'll be prizes! We've got the most bonkers version of pass the parcel you have ever seen and if you've never tried eating chocolate with a knife and fork before, better get practising!
