This is the title of a television programme about how difficult the aristocracy find it to recruit and retain suitable staff. Recent experience suggests that similar problems affect other less rarified stratas of society, including, if you can believe it, we at Audlem On Line (shock horror) !!
We recently published an article about a visit by the WI to the theatre at Crewe which was written by the very excellent Stephanie Richardson but which appeared as the work of a member of the web team. We wish to unreservedly apologise to our very good friend Steph whose work we usually willingly acknowledge as hers, but on this occasion omitted to do so.
In the current spirit of openness and transparency that we expect from our media, we are happy to acknowledge our error and feel duty bound to explain it. The article in question was allocated to a very junior, very inept and relatively new member of the web team who forgot to attribute it to Steph. Surprisingly, the big white chief in the editorial suite on the 22nd floor of Audlem On Line Towers also failed to notice it (he blames the fine weather and the beautiful view of the canal from his elevated office) and so the error went uncorrected.
Rest assured that the offending hack has been banished to the naughty corner of the dungeon that serves as the news room in Audlem On Line Towers and will remain there at least until the weather changes. It has been suggested that he may wish to offer his questionable skills to that section of our national tabloid press that values and rewards slipshod journalism, but to date no offers have been forthcoming.
