Those visiting the main Car Park in Audlem will no doubt have noticed that work has started on the external repainting of the Public Hall. This is part of an ongoing programme of works on the Hall that has already seen the stage completely refurbished.

There have also been surveys carried out in the last couple of weeks in relation to the new Public Hall Annexe for which building work should hopefully start early in 2016, funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

The land behind the existing Hall, where the Annexe is due to be built, has been surveyed for environmental and contamination problems, and today a CCTV survey of the drains will be carried out.

This work is funded by a development grant from the Big Lottery Fund to allow a Stage 3 application to be made for the full funds (some £600,000 altogether) to build the Annexe.

The APHAx (Audlem Public Hall Annexe) Committee is now working on the Stage 3 application which is scheduled to be submitted to the Big Lottery Fund in September.
