What a Saturday at the Audlem Music Festival

Yesterday we published the programme for the first day of next month's Audlem Music Festival which starts this coming Friday 25th and runs for four days to Monday 28th May. A great programme has been put together and today we feature the Saturday events.

There's a very full programme with seven venues to choose from. In the Public Hall it's young bands with attitude – The Defense; Black Auric and Sameoldnews, an ideal opportunity to see the emerging local talent on today's music scene. Admission to this feast of music is just £4 and the doors open at 7.00pm.

The other venues get underway on Saturday morning with Back Row and Saxophonie playing their lovely music to Festival early birds at the Methodist Hall from 10.30am. The ever-popular Blues Alley sees Andy Boote, the front man of Vavoom taking you through a set of acoustic songs in the afternoon from 2.00pm.

The White Lion at Hankelow is a very welcome addition to the Festival venues and Blue Auric are playing there with a hog roast as an additional attraction. At 6.00pm, the JVC Trio start at 6.00pm in the Lord Combermere with piano and bass supporting Val Warners' classy jazz/blues vocals. At the same venue, Poyzer, Fluff, Farrell follow at 9.00pm.

Heavy Weather – featuring Jim Kirkpatrick and performing original material from Jim's album plus classic blues/rock tracks – are playing at the Shroppie Fly at 9.00pm while at the same time at The Bridge there will be Terraplane Blues, an exciting mix of acoustic blues and hokum from the 1930s to the 60s. The White Lion at Hankelow also has an evening event, staring at 7.00pm featuring Gone Wrong Robot, a guitar based band from deepest Warwickshire.
