This might be interesting for the cycling fraternity in the village. My son, Andrew Clapperton, is a big cyclist and is at present on a long trek in China in very difficult conditions.
He also did a megatrek from Bejing in China to Audlem and Chester a few years back. It's more fun than taking the plane – but not for his mother!

Audlem Online says: How's this for starters taken from the website: "I first got into cycling in February 2005, when Jon Smith (a good friend of mine from the music scene in Cambridge) and I were travelling around Xishuangbanna in Southern Yunnan.
"We hired mountain bikes for five days to tour small villages on the Chinese border with Laos and we had so much fun that, after a couple of celebratory beers at the end of our trip, the idea popped into my head that it would be amazing to cycle home..... (we were both living in Beijing at the time).
"Once we'd come up with this seemingly insane proposal, there was simply no way I could say no to it – it was just too thrilling a challenge to turn down.”
