An iconic Audlem landmark, the crane on the Wharf outside the Shroppie Fly, was removed this morning for restoration.

You can see the article (September 2018) about the problem with the crane here.

An AudlemOnline Newshound was on hand this morning to assist in the dismantling of the crane and recorded the event for us.

The crane structure itself has been taken to the Canal & River Trust's Northwich Site with a plan in place to repair and refurbish it, before returning it to its rightful place by Audlem Wharf.

We anxiously await the speedy return of the reassembled and refurbished crane.
