Ed: Ralph has asked that we republish this article and to inform our readers that £850 of the £1500 required to stage the New Fireworks has now been raised. So good progress is being made but there is some way to go if villagers would like to celebrate the new year this way

A big question for the village ?

Shall I seek to organise a display -- as took place last December -- to welcome in 2021 and all that the new year promises ?
To say goodbye to this horrid year of living under the COVID cloud -- and perhaps to welcome in 2021 and the promise of a vaccine and an end to the devastation caused by this virus . To see the lifting of that black cloud . And by golly to end the year on a high.

We are not certain whether social distancing rules at that time will allow gathering in the square but if not villagers can watch maybe from outside their houses.

The cost will be £1500 and Blitz Fireworks as last year have been provisionally booked. These funds would need to be raised as soon as possible by contributions. Any appropriate amount would be welcome, but the amount represents approximately £10 each from 150 families.
Please let me know if you think we should proceed. You can contact me on email : rjw@notrubraw.com and Judy at Williams Newsagents has kindly offered to collect any contributions, by cheque or cash.

If the vote is yes, I will seek to do it , with the display being seen overhead of the centre of the village . With perhaps a welcome "Auld Lang Syne " as well

Please decide people and children of Audlem , Hankelow, Buerton
Just tell me and tell me soon .

Ps. I am still aiming to have Santa and his sleigh tour the lanes, Street and avenues on December 12/13th. Many folks hereabouts have said they are willing to accompany Santa . Wish me luck
