Celia and Ian Bloor have written to Audlem Online:-
"We have now got bus passes – 60 is the new 40 remember! So far we have been impressed with the timekeeping of the buses but shocked at how empty they are. We thought we'd would share a few of our journeys and perhaps others could tell you their favourites.
Chester – we parked at Civic Hall Carpark to be sure of getting back home.
Then they are every half hour and just as fast as going by car, mileage
saved about 50 (times 40p, the Inland Revenue allowance = £20!).
Catching a train from Crewe after 9.15 am? The 08.14am bus from Audlem, change onto the 44 at Nantwich, I know it goes a funny way through Shavington but you
are at Gresty Rd / Mill St. for 9.00. Had to pay half fare, a total of £2
each. Didn't try the return journey.
An evening class? Catch the 17.10 (or the 17.15) to get to Nantwich for
17.30 then you can leave at 19.30 or 20.20 – don't miss the last bus! When
we go on Tuesday the library is open so you don't have to wait in the cold -
or you might find you have time for a drink! Mileage saved, at least 12, so
£4.80!
Cheers – Celia and Ian Bloor"
