Just in case you missed this story yesterday morning:

Responses by 30th May

Members of Audlem Parish council attended the Cheshire East Strategic Planning Meeting held last week and put forward Audlem's views on speculative developments in the village. (See earlier report on AudlemOnline here.

The recent Gladman proposal for development of land at Little Heath has highlighted the importance for Audlem to stand its ground with regard to any speculative development proposals put forward before Cheshire East's Local Plan is in place.

At the meeting , it was agreed that a further public consultation on the Local Plan should take place. The timescale for this consultation is quite tight as Cheshire East require responses by 30th May.

Audlem Parish Council would strongly urge all villagers to take part in the consultation, which can be accessed at the CEC website here.

Petition

We have also, as recommended by CEC, set up a petition opposing such development in the village, which we would also ask residents to sign, to add weight to Audlem's views. This can be signed in the Coop, Williams Newsagents, and the Post Office. The petition can also be accessed online here.

I cannot stress enough the importance of getting as many responses as possible to the consultation and petition, so that Audlem's views are heard and taken into consideration.

Audlem Online note – the online process being used to gather petition responses is free to use although after accepting your entry it will display a screen displaying an invitation to "contribute to costs". If you do nat want to contribute then simply close the browser window at this point – your entry will still be counted.

For those interested in keeping up-to-date with Gladman developments we have created a special Gladman index in the newsroom. You access it by clicking the Gladman banner on the homepage. To go there now click here.
