Updated news on Berni in Houston

This latest update on Berni in Houston was received yesterday from Colin Cliffe via Ralph Warburton.

Colin says: "Berni has new drains in and they are pumping out loads. She is still in lots of discomfort and is really fed up now, she just wants to get home.

"I have spoken with doctors about the ongoing leaks. They should heal themselves provided the drains keep functioning to dry out the internal areas. It's just a case of waiting.

"There is no talk of her coming out at the moment which is disappointing. The girls may have to come home if this goes on any longer – we will just have to wait and see."

Latest today

A further update has been received this morning which is much more encouraging. Colin writes:

"Big improvement today. Berni has started to eat properly and although very weak we are continually pacing around the ward (11 laps) yesterday. The threat of Pete Webb offering to come and look at the leaks seemed to have shocked her into recovery (the things he can do with that blow lamp!)

"It's still many days before any thought of release from hospital and I think we will stay locally after that for some time just to be on the safe side, but overall everything looking better now.

"Thanks for all the support."
