Upcoming Road Closures in the Audlem & Baddington Bridge Areas
Thank you to those who have contacted me to seek clarity regarding forthcoming road closures. Herewith a summary of those, which I am aware of:
Ongoing and Forthcoming Road Closures : Audlem Ward:
- A525 Woore Road, closed until 16/5 .
- A529 Cheshire Street closure 28/4 – 8/5; local notifying signage is in place. I haven’t been able to find formal notification of this and am seeking detail of its exact location.
- Coole Lane, closure 5/5 – 8/5, Baddington Parish, to allow highway drainage works.
- Coole Lane, closure 11/5 – 14/5, to allow highway maintenance works. This will be during school hours so as not to disrupt home to school transport.
- A530 Whitchurch Road 4/5/26 – November 27, I have no detail of formal works/diversion etc, as yet, but assume this is part of the ongoing cycle of highway repairs which commenced last year.
- Monks Lane Audlem, closure 4/5/26 – 27, to allow maintenance/improvements works; I have no detail of formal works/diversion etc.
- Wrenbury Heath Road, Sound, closure 9/5/26 – 24/5/26, to allow rebuild of a damaged bridge parapet.
- Woodhouse Lane, closure 4/5/26 – 3/11/27, I have no detail of formal works/diversion etc, as yet.
I have shared my summary with Cheshire East Highways to seek clarity over the sequence and location of the proposed road closures and hope to provide an updated summary shortly.
Spring 26 is seeing much needed Water Authority Works, across the area, which along with the similarly vital highway repairs has the added complexity of the ongoing Statutory Weight Limit on Baddington Bridge.

Chester South and Eddisbury MP Aphra Brandreth, Crewe and Nantwich MP Connor Naismith, neighbouring Wrenbury Ward Councillor, James Pearson and myself are provided with regular meetings with Cheshire East Council on this matter. I believe that the importance of a solution, is recognised, not least:
- Impact on the surrounding network of roads and villages, including damage to highway structure and surfaces.
The council assure that resolution of this matter is now a number one priority.
