Two weeks today, it's the start of the Audlem Festival, one of the most popular events in the village calendar.

This will be the 10th anniversary of the village's first Music Festival which began in 2000 as an idea by then resident Paul Moran. Paul had moved to Audlem for some peace and quiet having lived in inner-city Manchester for the previous 30 years.

TalentPaul was amazed that such a small village had so many talented and, in many cases, full-time professional musicians and artists. He decided that the Audlem Carnival should join with musicians and artists to form a weekend of great music and art exhibitions combined.

Thursday to Monday in 2010This year's Festival has been extended by one day and will run from Thursday to Bank Holiday Monday, 27th – 31st May.

Programmes for the Festival, with details of the performances and venues are available on-line – click on the link beneath the photo – and in printed programmes that have been distributed widely around the area.

We are delighted to hear that Festival fans will be visiting from many other parts of the country, testament indeed to its success over the past decade. Paul Moran, if you are reading this, take a bow.

During the coming two weeks, Audlem Online will be bringing you Festival news in the build up to five great days in Audlem at the end of May. For the Festival itself, we plan to review many of the performances and keep you up to date with all that's happening.
